Dilemma: Private Hospital or Goverment Hospital?

Published

I've been thinking about this for the longest time and still I haven't decided on where to work for: Private Hospitals or Government Hospitals. Please do (do, dO, DO) help! What are the pros and cons of working for each type of hospital? And which one would YOU work for? Thanks a lot - it would be a great for us newbies.

God bless :)

I used to work at Stluke's now im with Phil Heart. Both have different programs for their staff. Resources at stluke's are no question plus the recognition. At PHc they make sure that a nurse doesnt get stuck at being a ward nurse..he'll get to ICUs after a year or so plus the exams every now & then.

focus on what specialization to take and choose the institution where u think can offer that to u.

the pay is always better with govt hosp..as in PHC's case

hi! good day..you said you are working in heart center, can i ask if how's the panel interview like??i am nervous because my panel interview at phc is scheduled this week..any tips???tnx..

The medical city is already a JCIA accredited last september of the previous year...and they are proudly announcing it through tons of advertisements on our local newspapers.Their website might not have been updated about it. ;)

This link confirms that "The Medical City" in the Philippines is already a JCI accredited facility/hospital:

I agree with you. JCIA accreditation doesnt mean that you, as a nurse will get higher training or higher pay. Although in some government hospitals, the work conditions maybe appalling (i.e. high nurse patient ratios), Generally big goverment hospitals like PHC, NKI, PGH have higher salaries than private hospitals. AND Some government hospitals have better working conditions (i.e. centralized air conditioning, great training, better nurse patient ratios)

just a reminder, if you plan to work in the us? you don't need a work experience.

i am just wondering. is it true that us does not require nurse applicants to have some experience in their native land? does the notion of being stuck in the nursing homes if one has no experience in their native land factual? would there be any chances to be employed as an usrn (given that you passed the nclex and ielts) without any working experience? please do enlighten me on this one. thanks so much! keep safe! be well!

i think most of the employers in acute care prefer the foreign applicant to have work experience and skills particularly in north america.
