Hello everyone.
I've seen so many threads about new grads not finding a job that I'm curious as to how many of you had to actually move(from city to city, state, or maybe just neighborhood)
If you can list:
Highest nursing education?
Specialty if any?
Desired job setting?(hosp, LTC, clinic)
Did you move from your city, neighborhood or state?
Did it suit you well to actually move?

Education: BSN Location: acute care Move: no didn't move but commuted 1.5 hrs each way whole 1st yr. Now in graduate school graduating 2015 with no plans to work bedside ever again.
Driving 1.5 hours each way making it a total of 3 hours everyday seems like a killer. A long commute can be a mind and spirit slaughtering activity.

I was first offered a new grad position in an er. I received a second new grad offer on a cardiac step down unit. I did the ER 6 months then was hired at my second job offer. Both are in hospitals. Most of my ADN cohorts have jobs in the hospitals in town (Tucson, AZ) and a few are in rehab or psych. I do know one person who moved across the country for a hospital job.
