Just found out today that I did not pass the Nclex again for the fourth time. I received the bad pop up., payment screen. Each time I do roughly about 115 to 125 question before the computer shuts off. I actually took a long break on this last attempt to get some good studying done. I read the saunders book and looking tons of review materials I got from friends and family. I did about 75 question a day 2 weeks prior to the test. Also I took the online kaplan course but that was after the first time I failed. Now I thinking about doing the hurst live review. Not sure what else I can do. My Faith and my wife is only thing keep me strong and encouraged. I am not giving up. Just need some advice...

Floyd,
The key to passing the NCLEX is doing as many questions as you possibly can handle. By doing this, you are learning at the same time. Take the time to understand why you got practice questions correct as well as taking the time to figure out why you got the incorrect ones wrong. This promotes active learning and not just doing questions. If you've successfully gotten through an accredited nursing program then you should have the basics covered. Doesn't the Kaplan course have some kind of offer if you don't pass, then you can take the course again for free or something? At this point, I would pull out all the stops and get the latest Lippincott book and Saunders book and just dig in. Aim for at least 100 questions per day until you take the exam again. Good luck.

"#FutureRN" Plus "Failed NCLEX four times" doesn't sit well with me. I'm not trying to be rude, but did you pay attention in class? What's your schools NCLEX pass rate?
Also found your problem. "I did about 75 question a day" when you failed 3 times prior won't cut it. I can blow through 75 questions, research the rationale behind each one, in under an hour. You need to seriously reconsider your study habits and your dedication to this field if you want to pass and not continue throwing money out the window.

You need to find out the kinds of questions you are missing. Like, are you missing mostly OB and calculation questions?
Is English your first language?
That is a LOT of times to fail the NCLEX It's not something you can finally memorize everything to pass. It tests your ability to think critically as much as it tests your memory. A person with good critical thinking skills can muddle their way through just about anything, even if they've never done it before. So they're testing you on several different levels. I sincerely hope there is something reasonably fixable for you, I gotta admire your perseverance!

Just to throw that out there for all the grads who haven't taken the test or are re-taking it: Saunders is good for content, but their practice questions are too easy compared to the actual test (although Kaplan's questions - at least as presented in their qbank, are more difficult than the test).
