Did I Fail With 112 Questions?

Published

I just took my NCLEX for the THRID TIME yesterday, and I answered about 112 questions. The last two times I answered 264, and 265! I am so embarrassed:o I already have a job at a hospital and had to give it up because the first time i failed i had to give up my interim permit. My job asked me to stay and work as an aide, but i was so embarrased that I couldn't. I have been reading everything everyone wrote and I dont even remember my last question because after it went passed 75 i was just expecting 265. I'm a wreck!!! I called the BON this morning and one person told me not to waste my time looking online for my results (which means I failed again!) then I talked to my friend who said "garbage, he cant tell you that" so I called back again in tears and the girl said "we dont even have your results yet so i dont know why he told you that" IM ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN!!! What do I do? Im in CA. Have you heard the magic number for passing or failing? Was does this mean?

There is not a magic number for passing or failing. You can pass at any number or you can fail at any number. The first guy at the CA RN Board probably told you not to bother looking on line because he knew the results wouldn't be there yet.

How do you feel about the questions this time compared to last time? Did they seem harder?

Hang in there. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I don't know if they were harder, its all a blur. I read about people remembering what was on the exam and I think "how on earth can you remember anything!" I do know that I didn't have any pick all that applies, nor did I have X marks the spot questions.

I took Kaplan this time, is it possible to get dumber????

Number of questions means absolutely nothing.

And unfortunately with CA, the earliest that you could see your name on their website is about four days, and it can take over a few weeks. They do not participate in quick notification.

Did you have alot of priority questions? That is a much better judge of how you did.

As I recall, I had alot of priority questions, is that good or bad?

Priority questions are the higher level type questions.

The CA BON guy probably told you not to bother today, and in your anxiety you interpreted it as something else!

As suzanne says the number doesn't matter. I've known people to fail at 75, and pass at 265, and also pass at 135. so 112? Could eb this time you will be signing RN after your name!
