Ok so there is a new residency program for the new grads that just got created not long ago in one of the not so bad hospital,I really would love to try it instead of having a "short" orientation period in one of the other hospitals,I dont even care if that means a cut in pay,it is ok,I'm not that greedy and I realize that I'm still a newbie to the world of nursing and my biggest satisfaction would be to survive and learn my new career, money will come later as they says,my priority is to learn how to be an efficient nurse and not someone's burden..anyway the catch is the new RN residency program starts in February so that is long time ahead...I did get the seasonal job at the Mollen Flu clinic but I'm not sure how many shifts I can book since I started applying for this job way too long,so basically with that Flue clinic I guess I would have some work coming until december and then if I will get accepted into RN residency program (keeping my fingers crossed) I would be off work for a month and a half or maybe two months, what do you guys think should I be looking into jobs that offer just the regular training on the job or is it worth to wait for a solid training through the RN residency program. Also I would love to hear stories/experiences from other RNs who went through the RN residency program, did you like it,do you think that such programs prepared you to be on your own, thanks
