I have looked at getting it and plan on it, you can get mal-practice insurance CHEAP, and just so you know MOST colleges malpractice insurance only covers you while your at your college, once you graduate and someone decides to name you on a suit, your responsible for it 100% your college malpractice insurance will not cover it, nor will your current police (its like $29 a year for 1,000,000/6,000,000 coverage (1 mil per occurance, 6 a year) thats why I am joining
Didn't help me one bit.
BTW, you don't have to be a member to find inexpensive malpractice insurance.
I am referring to my State Assoc. but that give me membership in the National Assoc.
I confess that I did join and should have thought about it more. Much of the website hasn't been updated since 2007 -- including things like minutes.
I did notice that the majority of "leaders" seem to be from the same college -- there is not a soul from my college on any committee or anything.
Oh well -- we shall see.
Um Hello! How does a girl get one of those? Happy to take free advice here.
Thanks DolceVita. I hope you do get something out of your membership. I'm going to look into it. I'm a "joiner" by nature. I joined my professional (medical transcription) association and quickly found myself getting very involved. I ended up as president of the local chapter (very small), but that was fantastic for making friends, building confidence, networking, and ultimately an all-expenses-paid trip to the annual national convention and expo in my third year as president. As it just happened to be in Hawaii that year, I was a very happy camper.:yeah:I have no idea how things work in this new field though.

Just curious if, in hindsight, anyone found their membership truly worthwhile.
