Hi all, I had an interview with Central state Prison a week ago. And after the interview, the lady asked me to fill out a form for criminal background check.She said it will take couple of days before the get back the result.I'm still waiting for her call.Does this mean I'm hired? I'm a new grad Nurse just finished school last December & i really want this job so bad cos the hospitals are not hiring right now.

I had and interview also a few weeks ago, I called one of the facilities and they said they would contact me either by phone or by mail usual wait time is about 2 to 3 weeks from what i've heard because they have to do background checks, call references, etc

Yes you are right. It took 3 weeks before I heard back from them.And I did get the job.

Congrats! I wanted to post a thread asking the same exact question lol! I had a interview at a detention center on Wednesday (had a previous interview at another detention center but I guess it didn't work out :-( ) and it went really great. After the interview was over I filled out a w-4, gave them a copy of my nursing license,cpr card, soc.security card, driver's license, did a drug test & filled out a lonnnnnng form for a background check to be completed with the sheriff's department. When it was all said & done, they said it would take 10 days for the background check to come back..so does that mean I got the job? I really hope so:uhoh3:

I think you have the job! But the bad part not really bad is the waiting game.They told me it will take take a week but it took almost 3 weeks so my guess is it will take couple of weeks before they get back at you but just be patient. As long as there's nothing in your background check, you are good to go.Congrats in advance!

I interviewed on may 2nd and JUST got a call last friday. nearly 4 weeks.

Wow! Did you follow up with them at all during that time (thank you notes, phone call,etc)? Congrats on your job!

Nope. No follow up. They gave me strong hints immediately following the interview that I *will* hear from them, but because of all the red tape in CDCR with the medical hiring freezes they informed me that it could take up to 4 weeks, and they were right!

Yes ma'am. If i decide to take it that is. Navy Nursing is my first priority, but if that falls through this is my plan B.
