  1. I took my AANP exam yesterday & sadly I failed. I guess it's so easy to read other people's comments about the test till when it is actually you testing for it. I will say I was stressed, anxious & it got the best out of me. I'm sad but not discouraged. I finished school Nov,16 & was all over the place for say a month with trying to decide which review book to use. I previously used Fitzgerald, Boardvitals & Leik for my study. I got mostly HEENT & all those different rashes got me confused. I got home & replayed everything that happened in my head. I feel so tired, disappointed & numb. Today I plan on calling the AANP to see how I can get me 15 CE hours & also reapply to test.My friends told me to try ANCC but I feel that since I have seen how AANP test is, I feel I will be prepared the 2nd time around. My husband tried to make me relax by reminding me that I passed my NCLEX after 2 attempts. Maybe I'm the kind of "2nd time around" test taking person. But on a positive note, it is important to really know your symptoms, labs and 1st & 2nd line of antibiotics treatment. This time around, I will solely focus on Leik & maybe add Hollier review. I hope to retest again in April. But God knows why I didn't make it because I thought I passed. Anyways we just have to keep encouraging each other and one day, it will be over.Remain blessed & keep studying, praying & pushing till we get that little piece of paper saying You passed! Good luck to us all.
  2. I think you have the job! But the bad part not really bad is the waiting game. They told me it will take take a week but it took almost 3 weeks so my guess is it will take couple of weeks before they get back at you but just be patient. As long as there's nothing in your background check, you are good to go.Congrats in advance!
  3. Yes you are right. It took 3 weeks before I heard back from them. And I did get the job.
  4. Hi all, I had an interview with Central state Prison a week ago. And after the interview, the lady asked me to fill out a form for criminal background check. She said it will take couple of days before the get back the result.I'm still waiting for her call.Does this mean I'm hired? I'm a new grad Nurse just finished school last December & i really want this job so bad cos the hospitals are not hiring right now.
  5. What happened to the exam dates in 2012? Just asking.
  6. I can relate to your experience. I took my nclex rn Jan 28th & failed. I failed because I kept listening to what my classmate were saying on facebook that their questions stopped @ 75q. So when I got to question 75 and it didn't shut down, my heart started beating so fast and i started sweating. i kept saying to myself while is it not shutting down and before I knew it. I started clicking on any answer. Finally It got shut down @ question 100. There & then, i knew i failed. I cried all the way home because I felt instead of believing in myself,i believed in what my classmates said about their own testing experience. But I went back regrouped myself picked another Testing date and studied like i never before. I shut my facebook. I prayed like i never before. On March 31st, I retook it and passed! The second time around I used Kaplan, Saunders 5th edition and Lacharity PDA. I believe when you are ready to go back for the test, you will pass. Believe in yourself and good luck to you.
  7. I used Saunder 5th Edition, Lacharity's PDA & Kaplan.I did 200q everyday. 100 in the morning, 100 @ night. A month to my test date, I increased it to 150-200 in the morning & same in the night. But all I can say is do what works for you.The 1st time i took it was Jan 28th, i used only ATI book(my school used it) & I was filled with so much fear & lost confidence in myself. But the 2nd time around (March 31st), i prayed, read & believed in myself & God did the rest for me.Go in there & do your best. All u need is in your brain u just have to tap into it always believe that u will succeed.Good luck to you!!
  8. I think you are ready for your test. I also took nclex last month (2nd attempt) & i passed! If i can do it, you can do it.Don't doubt yourself & don't allow fear to come in to you. Believe in yourself & u will excel. Will be praying for you.
  9. Futurern34, ur posting really drove to study like crazy!! Even though i don't know you i felt we connected thru nclex!!!
  10. Thank you all. I feel so loved. And it's also feel so good not to be studying!God is indeed good!!!
  11. I took my nclex RN this morning & got 21 sata, 6 drug questions,1 drag question ,1 exhibit question & it shut off at 200 questions.I got home did the pvt trick & got the "good" pop up!! Waiting for Monday to see the official result.
  12. I agree with MaleNurseIL, don't fill your mind with negative news especially if your testing date is almost near. Cos once it gets to your head, it's hard to remove that fear in u. Believe in ur self & u can do it.
  13. I used ATI the first time only. But this around I used Kaplan, PDA, Saunders 5th edition. But i think what made me to actually pass was i regained my confidence & just imagined I was back in Nursing school taking the usual Nursing test. Also I prayed like i never before.
