The candidate currently has test results on hold?
I understand not everyone gets favorable news... But in general from what I read and experienced they usually take your results off hold pretty soon if you fail. Not always they case, but I like to stay positive :-)

Here a little secret, save your $8 call your states BON of nursing once you get the good pop up. They can tell you if your license number is pending the following business day you name appears on the license look up website... All the best :-)

The candidate currently has test results on hold?
It's the worst feeling in the world! I waited 6 days for my results. The good news is the longer you wait the higher the chance is that you passed. There is no need to put exam results on hold if you failed. (Generally) Keep hope alive!

2013 NCLEX Exam dates
I complete my program in May of 2013. Just trying to plan ahead. Is it realistic to pass the Nclex by the summer of 2013 and begin working shortly there after?

Graduating with a History degree, want to enter nursing field.
Make sure you research the pre-req that each program wants you to have.

I would take the pre-reqs at a local community college it's def cheaper and no one cares where you took A & P just as long as you took it. There are some core pre-reqs every school wants you to have like A&P Micro Pscy. But some programs req chemistry, nutrition economics (don't ask me why) I wouldn't be too concerned about your GPA pre-reqs for nursing are rote memorization. If you can memorize you can make As.

I was in your shoes so a couple of things. Hooray for you for maintaining a high GPA! The programs that allow you to complete pre-reqs while you earn your degree are usually AA programs. You want to avoid those programs bc the industry standard is a BSN. Seaton hall offers a bridge MSN program for non nursing. BUT it does req some pre-reqs. There's really no way to avoid the a & p micro & psyc. They are foundation courses necesary for your nursing course work
