Did you focus on one school or did u apply to many different programs?

Published

I am trying not to limit myself by focusing on only one school but I am finding it difficult to organize :angryfire

1. what school wants what entrance exam

2. which school allows prereqs to be in progress at time of application

3. Chemistry 1025 or 1045 :uhoh3:

So if you applied to several schools at once how did u organize?

Thanks:redpinkhe

Omg..

The number one nursing program I want to attend asks to apply ONE YEAR before the fall term you want to attend. May I ask what am I suppose to do for a whole year while I wait? And my plan B school has a waiting list of like 2, 3 years.:banghead: I'm feeling hopeless right now. Anyone has any advice on what I can do?

The time frame between application deadlines (with all prerequisites finished before deadline) and start dates is between 4 and 14 months at the schools I applied to. Take a break during that time if you can, you won't get one once you start your nursing program!;)

I only have 2 schools near me that offer the ADN, so I'm applying to both of them this month. They both have pretty much the same pre-reqs, but both require different entrance exams.

14 months? I might have to work as CNA or drawing blood for a year then :p Me and boyfriend want to move in together by that time and the bills wont pay themselves >.

At my school, you can apply when you finish your pre-reqs. But there's pretty much no chance of getting in until you've finished your core classes (the classes the college says that you actually take along side the nursing classes). So, I applied Aug 09. I'll finish my core classes this summer and will have to renew my application in Aug 10. They start looking at applications in September for fall semester, if you have all the core classes done you go to the top of the list, then they sort by the date of your initial application (for me Aug 09).

I tell you this because it's possible that you will face the same situation, so my advice is to start researching all the schools that you are considering. Good luck.

I am only applying to one school for fall my #1 choice. Of course having only just gotten my LVN license in October its not an emergency for me to get into RN school straight away and my #1 choice is my #1 by alot

theres really only two im lookng at College of the Canyons and Antelope Valley College. Both are top schools in southern cali.. and require just about the same pre reqs... ive decided to get the bare pre reqs done and if i happen to need to wait.. ill take my bs classes like history and pysch etc.. hopefully i wont.. but u never know.. im attending AVC so i would LOVE to go there

I had 3 schools in mind but they all had different prereq's and you had to have them done within 5 years. I threw those 2 out that had that limitation. I got extremely lucky because I was accepted this Spring 2010, and the school is literally down the street from me!:D I am blessed/lucky...gltua
