Just wondering if anyone failed using the Kaplan review course? I'm going to be taking the review course in July. I really hope I didn't waste my money on it. :angryfire
The way I look at it is .. they must have to have an extremely high pass rate in order to offer the money back or repeat the class guarantee. If the pass rate was really low from people taking their class they would be refunding everyone and they wouldn't be making any money. So they would probably do away with the program. So it must be a pretty decent program.
Does anyone know the pass rate of people who passed using the Kaplan review course? Or knows where I could find the statistics at?

I rushed to take the NCLEX right after graduation and failed. I then took a Kaplan review class and attempted the NCLEX again. I failed yet again and since it wasn't my first time testing after Kaplan, their guarantee didn't apply and they refused a refund. I did feel that Kaplan helped a little. My scores improved in some content areas on the NCLEX, but Kaplan was just testing strategies. I needed more content review! To me $500 was just too much to pay for strategies alone!

There is a Kaplan strategy book for $25 at Barnes and Noble and it is a quick read with their strategies. I agree that $500 is too much for a review class and with Kaplan it is all about test taking strategy. The book was helpful to me as I am a horrible test taker and read too much into things.

one of my classmate here in PI, enrolled in kaplan.Unfortunetely, she failed. As far as i am concern, kaplan is good in terms of strategy. If you have the question trainer, its great.i will take my nclex this coming oct. 18, 2007.

in light of sounding like i am whining.....here goes.
at the nursing school i just graduated from we were required to take the kaplan review course after graduation or a similar nclex prep course in order to complete requirements for graduation.
i have not yet taken my nclex so i cant answer the original question. here is the thing, i feel like i spent way to much money on the kaplan course. i would have preferred to just get the online information and use the question trainer and learn their strategies online as opposed to in the classroom too. the class consisted of reviewing question after question. if you didn't understand the kaplan way too bad, they had to get the alloted number of questions in for the day. yes we were able to ask questions, then this led to others asking ot questions or asking for indepth explanations of something that should have been learned while we were in nursing school. the kaplan has made me feel less confident about taking the nclex when i do the questions from kaplan online and get the results i feel like a numbskull. i just pray that the kaplan questions are really hard compared to the real nclex.
