Did Anyone Apply for Spring 2018 for SUNY Farmingdale?!?

Published

Hello all!

I didn't see anyone here on allnurses that posted about SUNY Farmingdales advanced standing transfer Nursing B.S! I applied at the end of July and so far have received a letter that i passed the first round of admissions! YAY! I thought maybe we could all support one another and say our GPAs and Prerequisite grades for anyone who is interested. I have scheduled my TEAS exam for October 2nd. If anyone is interested in knowing, I decided to go with the TEAS at a PSI center and not at farmingdale so that I will be able to send my scores to other schools if I choose. I am really hoping to get in! Nursing is my dream. :)

I already have completed all the pre req courses required by farmingdale. I am currently a senior at a CUNY school studying Health Science.

Overall GPA: 3.65

Pre Req Course Grades:

1. A and P 1 = B+

2. A and P 2 = A

3. Eng. Comp 1 = A

4. Math (Pre Cal) = B+

5. Psych = A+

6. Three Liberal Arts Courses: (will vary among individuals)

A. Eng comp 2 = A-

B. Music = A

C. History = A

Pre Req GPA: 3.7

Quick questions for anyone who got this info from them:

1. Does this years TEAS exam have a calculator? And are we allowed to use it during the math section?

2. Is this a rolling admissions type thing or do they review applications AFTER the deadline?

Thank you everyone! I hope everyone interested gets in!

Yes for future people definitely aim for above an 80. But I actually talked to them about teas scores and they said above 75 but it depends on the Application pool :/

As corn GPA, ur GPA is better than mine! I got a 3.65 so they weigh TEAS a lot more than gpa.

Anyone paid the $55 orientation fee and is having issues doing the online orientation? When I try and create an account to do the orientation, it says my RAM ID cannot he found. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks!

Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I am about 90 % sure I will attend and work part time while I do so because it's so cheap !

For my fellow acceptees, when you received the email, did you see the instructions for a background check? Do we have to pay for the background check ourselves?

I did not get an email about a background check! When did u get that one? Thanks.

Did anyone get anything in the mail get. I submitted my $100 tuition deposit. However, I haven't relieved any other instructions.

I only got a financial aid package in the mail. Nothing more. Then an email regarding an online orientation but it won't let me do it. So I emailed them and I'll let you know what they say. We also gotta wait for our transfer credit reports to be done. How do you look for it in OASIS? I can't find anything regarding the transfer report.

When i spoke to the receptionist on the phone she was very rude, but she said after I pay the $100 (i did already) I will recieve a packet in the mail with instructions to register for classes. I have gotten nothing in the mail.

I usually don't call for this reason. Most of them are rude and definitely don't know about the nursing program. When you email them, you email people who know specifically about the nursing program. I remember I called once and the lady said General bioogy 1 is a prerequisite even though it is not. Lol emailing is your best bet. The only thing I received was emails regarding immunizations.

I haven't gotten anything in the mail. Only an email for my acceptance and instructions about a background check on 11/22. I paid the $100 deposit today.

I didn't hear about a background check. I'll gave to call them later.

So I just emailed them and acceptance packets were sent out yesterday and should be getting to us in the next week.
