Hello all!
I didn't see anyone here on allnurses that posted about SUNY Farmingdales advanced standing transfer Nursing B.S! I applied at the end of July and so far have received a letter that i passed the first round of admissions! YAY! I thought maybe we could all support one another and say our GPAs and Prerequisite grades for anyone who is interested. I have scheduled my TEAS exam for October 2nd. If anyone is interested in knowing, I decided to go with the TEAS at a PSI center and not at farmingdale so that I will be able to send my scores to other schools if I choose. I am really hoping to get in! Nursing is my dream. :)
I already have completed all the pre req courses required by farmingdale. I am currently a senior at a CUNY school studying Health Science.
Overall GPA: 3.65
Pre Req Course Grades:
1. A and P 1 = B+
2. A and P 2 = A
3. Eng. Comp 1 = A
4. Math (Pre Cal) = B+
5. Psych = A+
6. Three Liberal Arts Courses: (will vary among individuals)
A. Eng comp 2 = A-
B. Music = A
C. History = A
Pre Req GPA: 3.7
Quick questions for anyone who got this info from them:
1. Does this years TEAS exam have a calculator? And are we allowed to use it during the math section?
2. Is this a rolling admissions type thing or do they review applications AFTER the deadline?
Thank you everyone! I hope everyone interested gets in!
Hello all!, I am currently in the process of getting ready for applying to Farmingdale's Nursing Program and understand how competitive it is. I have a question in regards to the TEAS Exam, I scored a 78 on the TEAS exam the first time I took it and when I spoke to admissions they highly recommended I retake the TEAS even with A's in all my Pre-reqs and an overall GPA of 3.9. I don't want to score lower on my TEAS but what happens if you do end up with a lower score the second time you take it? Do they accept the higher score or the most recent test score? Any feedback would be awesome!

I am a current student in the nursing program. I started Spring of 2017. As for the question about ranking, when I applied I was told by admissions that in percentage of weight the TEAS is 40%, your prereq GPA is 40%, and your overall GPA is only 20%. I have a friend with a 4.0 who did poorly on the TEAS who didn't get in. The TEAS is weighted heavily and is very important. Most people in my class that I have talked to scored in the 80s and a few in the 90s. I know of one person who got a 74 and the lowest I know of is a 70. Based on this, it would seem that you guys have a good shot of getting in. Best of luck getting accepted!
Hi, Im sorry to respond to you so late. And I know you might not see this but I applied to the Advanced Standing Program for Spring 2022. I was wondering if you can give me some tips/advice. My overall/pre-req GPA is a 3.84 and my TEAS score is a 72. Do you think I have a shot of being accepted? You said one of you friends had a 4.0 but a low TEAS score so she wasn't accepted. Was her TEAS score below a 70 because the nursing informations guy said they will consider scores that are at the very least above a 70. Can you please help me out I am having horrible nerves and anxiety because of this admissions application. Thank you, I appreciate it.

I am not registered either. I also thought they were emailing those who signed up for the DEU and then we could write an essay afterwards? I was considering the DEU because Southside is the closest hospital to me because I live in Lake Grove. When I called the nursing department they all said we could be placed in Southside even if we did not do the DEU program.
Did anyone get a date that our schedules would be posted around?
Also, does anyone know of a Facebook group of those accepted? If not, we should definitely make one so we all can communicate easier.
