Did anyone apply for the 2017 Fall Nursing Program at Malcolm X?

Published

Trying to find out if anyone applied for the Nursing program at Malcolm X? What should I expect after applying?

I got my acceptance letter for the RN program!

I received my acceptance letter today as well. Yayy. .. Thank God!

Thanks and congrats to you. See you in the Fall

For those who heard back, when did you apply? I applied back in February and haven't heard anything. I'm getting a bit discouraged...

I applied in February. I got my letter at 8pm today though. They could still be sending them out and maybe you'll hear back later this week

The Dean stated letters going out this week and next week. I.applied in February.

I applied to the LPN to RN program and got my acceptance letter on May 10th! Anyone else starting with me in a few weeks? I'm so nervous and excited to start. It's going to be hard, if I remember how hard the LPN program classes were, but I know we can do it!

Hi @apfreytes, I too applied for the LPN to RN program and got accepted w/condition to pass the summer bridge course! :) I'm so nervous....and frankly I am really enjoying this two weeks w/out any stress...cause if LPN was bad enough...I can't imagine RN program. When did you get your LPN and what school?

Hi @earroyo56! I'm so excited for these last few weeks being stress free. I'm sure when school starts, we're going to hit the ground running! I graduated in 2008 from San Jacinto College in Houston, TX where my family lives. I sat for the nclex-pn in February 2009 and got my license in March of 2009. I moved back home to Chicago and have been working as an LPN ever since. I finally decided to take the plunge and get paid for what I already do and applied to the program and got in! When did you get your LPN? I feel like an old lady starting school. LOL!

LOL don't feel that way, it's never too late to start something you already knew you wanted to do. I graduated in 2015, took my NCLEX-PN on 3/2016. So I've only been a nurse for a little over a year, so I'm still new and learning so much as I go on. I was in banking for 11 years before becoming an LPN. I graduated from Wilbur Wright College. So you definitely have the experience.....I still have to so much to learn. But I'm glad that I'll have someone w/your experience to ask questions too in the program....I can't wait! I guess it's that exciting, scared....I just want to get it over with feeling!

Did anyone attend Malcolm for the 1st semester of the RN program. I need so insight on what nursing 101 will be like.
