DEVASTATED I FAILED The NCLEX

Published

Hello, I just recently took my NCLEX examination two days ago and found out I failed. I had been studying for three long months utilizing Kaplan, Saunders, and Lippincott-Nursing questions and answers made incredibly easy, and Helen Feur CD's. I sat for the exam and took two hours answering 75 questions and then the computer shut off. I was stunned and excited all at the same time because I had heard if the computer shuts off at 75 you have a better chance at passing then failing. I had quite a few of SATA, and only about 8-9 different medications I had never even heard of. I didn't get any math questions which I had heard were considered easy questions. I had a job lined up to begin August 3 and can no longer start now because I failed. Now I'm stuck continuing to work as a CNA until I pass my boards. I spent all day crying and depressed. I studied my butt off just to fail. What did I do wrong??? If anyone has any positive advice for me on what I should do, I would really appreciate it because I truly feel like such a failure.:crying2:

Natingale,

I was scoring in the mid 50's with trainers 6 & 7 and yes, I must agree that the QBank was a bit easier than the actual trainers because I was scoring in the 60's. I was told that we should be scoring 65% or higher on the QBank and we are gauranteed to pass and have found that not to be quite as true.

someone who just recently posted here said they were scoring 50-60s but passed. i think it its all about knowing and understanding the rationales behind the questions that is more important than a score. and also just because someone did 5000 questions guarantees a passing yet that person doesnt even go thru every rationales. read every rationales, EVEN IF YOU GOT THE ITEM RIGHT, it will help tremendously. I'm on my second take on the 27th. Im not confident either but I know one day we will all pass as long as our drive is still there! Good luck!
