Hello All!
I am a career changer looking to apply for DePaul MENP Program for the Fall of 2017. Im looking for any insight in terms of the application process. I have a degree in Science Education. I graduated with a 3.48 so I meet the gpa requirement.
Unfortunately I did not do so well on the prerequisite courses. I'm looking at
three C's and a B+. How ironic considering I teach science! Had a pretty rough start to college but no excuses here!
Are there any applicants that have been accepted with similar grades? How are these viewed/weighed by the college? Does anyone recommend taking the GRE if not needed? Any application advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello everybody,
Congrats to those who got accepted. I'm still waiting THE email/letter to arrive, but the immunisation tab appeared out of nowhere on my Campus Connect and wondering what it really means? I've red from previous years applicants that usually it's accompanied by a welcome message of acceptance, which I don't have...Nonetheless, I'm a bit more hopeful now, but I would still like to find out if the immunisation tab is a sign of acceptance or if all applicants are getting in at some point after they complete the application?
Many thanks, positive vibes to y'all!
Hi everyone,
I am yet to hear back as well. I had a 3.46 GPA, completed all the pre-reqs and had about 9 months of CNA experience. I am still hopeful but definitely getting nervous! I know several people have mentioned getting accepted but is there anyone who has been rejected or wait-listed? I tried to get some info on acceptance rates but they don't share that information.
thanks!
Is on the right side of the screen, under " TO DO's". Funny enough, mine dissapeared after I logged out and logged back in again. And I'm pretty sure it's a sign you got accepted, because shortly after the whole pikaboo game, I received the email telling me I got accepted. Yay!! Good luck to you!
Hey all! I'm new to this thread, and have been relying on it a lot to figure out when I would hear back. I was starting to lose hope too, but I just heard back that I got accepted this past thursday afternoon through email! Keep the hope alive, there's only one more week! I just figured that they received a lot of applicants, so it's taking them a while to work through them.
Good luck to the rest of you! :)

Hi All,
I really appreciate all the posts. It has helped me to become more and less nervous at the same time:)
I received my acceptance letter by e-mail yesterday. I applied right around the deadline.
To reply to Jasmynthalia's post I would say go ahead and apply for the next quarter if you haven't already, it can't hurt.
My college GPA was just above a 3.0 or below 3.0 if you factor in repeat courses. It was over a decade ago so maybe they waved it a little.
Since then I have taken A & P 1 and 2 and microbiology receiving A's. I am currently doing the chem 2 and will do organic this summer.
I would also recommend taking the GRE. If you don't do good then don't submit it. I got a 151 verbal, 155 math, and 4.0 writing which is 60th percentile. My main study method was Magoosh an online software (they have a great timeline to keep you on track), I used the Manhattan Prep flashcards (bought on amazon) for the vocab since I wasn't a big fan of the Magoosh flashcard program, and then I would write my essays, review the sample ones, and send some of mine to my family for feedback. I spent about 400 hours of study time in all for the test. The more study time you spend the better you will do, it's not an IQ test.
My biggest recommendation
Apply to multiple colleges and multiple programs. There are so many all over Chicago. Even if you are doing an Accelerated BSN or just an ADN apply and see what happens. From there you can usually get your employer to help pay for the Masters and eventually Doctorate if you want.
Biggest disappointment in my application process
Rush is very strict on the GPA. If you don't have above a 3.5 I wouldn't waist my time, unless you are amazing in every other way. I had talked to them and asked if my GPA would be ok sending them a copy of my transcript. They looked over it and said yes. Then when I submit my application the very next day I got a reply back saying I was not accepted do to my GPA.
Good luck to all others applying, I hope you get in:) If not try again. Depaul is every quarter, and sad to say next winter is not that far away;)
