Denver School of Nursing October 2017 Start

Published

Hi, everyone!

I am patiently waiting to hear back from Denver School of Nursing for October 2017. Please reach out if anybody else is doing the same!

@Dsaar89, are you going to secure financing before your interview? When are you scheduled to meet them? I'm so excited. I can't wait to finally be doing what I've wanted to do for a very long time. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

I am a Navy veteran and so I've already secured financing due to my education benefits from serving. I've waited 5 years of service and a year and a half of pre-reqs for this so i am really anxious and excited to start!!! I meet with them July 11th :)

Oh very nice, that's wonderful. Thank you for your service. My interview is May 30th. Can't wait too.

Hi! I'm from California too, and have my interview July 27th. Looking forward to meeting everyone in October!

Lots of Californians. I lived in the Los Angeles area (San Fernando Valley) for 13 years. I've lived in Colorado for just about 5 years now. Look forward to meeting you all.

Besides FAFSA, what routes are you all taking to secure finance?

Hey guys for those of you interested, once your officially set up with DSN, both the Veterans Association and the U.S. Public health service offer scholarships for commitment. Most of the VA scholarships will pay 100% of tuition for nursing students and a monthly stipend and only require a 2 years work commitment afterwords! Dont let financing be the reason you can't move on!

@cos89, private loans with Sallie Mae, most likely.

@dsaar89, do you have a link you can share to see what the requriements are for the scholarships?

I applied for the October 2017 cohort. I was invited to come in for an interview via email. I went and did my interview this morning with Kelly and we went over lots of stuff and took a tour (the skills simulation labs were very cool!!!) If you make it to the interview basically you're in-it's just a chance for them to meet with you and get to know you a little more to make sure DSN is a right fit. I'm going back on June 8th to take the entrance exam and sign my enrollment paperwork!

Yes, it basically does. They want to meet you before offering admission, but if you made it to the interview and you don't mess that up then you're in! I had my interview today and I go back June 8th to take the entrance exam and sign the enrollment paperwork.

What questions did they ask? I go in a week from today! What did you wear? lol I'm so nervous..
