Denver School of Nursing July 2016 start

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello, I just wanted to touch base with any prospective students that have applied for the July 2016 start. It should be getting close to people hearing things if they haven't already!

I agree, I would feel terrible if I had to keep calling out and stressing about making both schedules work. I am in the same boat as you, although you live much further from Colorado than I do. I have been searching on every website possible to find a decent place to rent but I keep getting scam offers. I will keep you updated after my interview and let you know how it went.

Thanks so much! And Good luck!! I'm going to start looking for apartments too just in case and I'll let you know if I find anything :)

Hey! I have my interview next Friday. I live in Denver so since you guys are so far away if you need any info or help about what's around and all that let me know. Good Luck!

Good luck on your interview!! I have a question about Denver's housing. Is it expensive? And how does the light rail work? I've noticed that some other people posted about using the light rail to get to school just didn't know how far out of Denver it ran. Thanks!

Denver housing is outrageous! I will be moving downtown and I live about 20 minutes from downtown now. The places I looked range between$1700/month-1900/month all expenses included. It a lot. But we are going to try to save before July so we can afford it. Unfortunately, I don't know too much about the lightrail. You will have to look up its map. You can find cheaper apartments for good quality north of Denver and just take the bus and invest your money into a bus pass rather than an apartment downtown. The bus drops you off right at coors field which is next to the school :)

Awesome, thank you! How'd your interview go?!

Awesome! Thank you!! Is your interview March 4th? Do you have to take the HESI too or do you already have a bachelors? I was looking at places in aurora and I found some place for about 1200 a month. Places in Denver seemed very expensive for not that nice of a place.

Yes, it is. I do have to take the HESI exam. The places in Denver are really expensive! It's a really good idea to move outside of Denver. I'm sure parking will be a pain if you have to do that. I hear there is no parking at DSN.

Good luck tomorrow on your interview!! Let us know how it goes. I have heard that parking is terrible and you have to pay crazy prices for parking. I am not sure what I am going to do for that yet. Do any of you know if DSN is nationally accredited? I see on their website that they are ACEN accredited but I am getting confused.

It went well thank you! Parking is awful haha. Even to go for the interview its bad bad parking. But yes DSN is Nationally accredited she told me :)

Where did you end up parking?

Okay perfect! Thank you for letting me know about the accreditation :)

what was the interview like if you don't mind me asking?

Hi, I will be starting on the July 2016 start date. I live in Fort Collins now and will be moving to Englewood in June. I am going to definitely use the light rail and the bus from Union Station to get to school. The traffic of downtown Denver and parking can be too much. Specially right next to Coors Field. I am super excited about becoming a student. I have a BS from Colorado State University and work as a CNA in a skilled nurses facility. I also applied to CU Denver. I decided to enroll at DSN because at the interview I was so blown away at the close connections that the faculty had with the students. I also was impressed with the global health program. I am ready to become a RN and look forward to meeting the rest of my cohort. If anyone else will be living in Englewood let me know!
