Published

Hi everyone!

Just starting a thread for DSN april admission 2015 :)! I bet everyone is eager to hear back... only a few more weeks yay! Has anyone else applied?

Hello Sandra can you please tell me what where your credentials when applying to the school and how competitive is the program with acceptances. Thank you

Hi, Sandra.

I remember that you were pulled later on (similarly to me). How did your interview go?!

@teds89 I had my interview today and it went great! I really enjoyed it. She does most of the talking. It was pretty relaxed, so don't be nervous :)

@ nurseaddict My gpa was a 2.89 when I applied, with a lot of volunteer services. I was first put on the alternate list, and was pulled from it later on. As long as you have above a 3.0 and volunteer experiences, you will not have any problem getting in. Good luck :)

Can't wait to meet you all! Glad you guys got pulled from the alternate list. Two months till we start! Feel free to add me on Facebook :)

Thank you I'm currently doing volunteer service and they won't give me a letter till I get 150 hours which will be in April. And I already submitted my application for July start. Please let me know when you start and how you like the program. Congrats

Hello! I will be joining you all in the April 2015 BSN class! I am having a hard time finding financing since the federal loans I was awarded only cover about half of the program. Does anyone have any suggestions for private loans? Ive worked so hard to get to this point and I hope money wont be the thing that keeps me from becoming a nurse :(

Megan- orientation as far as I know is march 26th

Brooklyn I plan on using good ol sallie mae unless my bank becomes a lender soon. I have my financial aid meeting tomorrow to go over options so going to see what they say!

They told me that they no longer use sallie mae......but perhaps you will get different info. Keep me posted if they give you any ideas of other lenders. I was told that they are in the process of finding another lender to use and that i would get a call when they have it secured. I assume this is for in-house financing but im not certain.

Yaaaa I had no idea that was happening with sallie mae until today. They did in fact tell me they are done with sallie mae and will call or email in a month about other lenders so we can sign paperwork for loans then. In house financing is the balance after federal loans/grants divided by 21 months. No interest but that's just not an option for me. my fa advisor said they have the lenders but they aren't ready to set up students with them yet... we'll see!
