Hi everyone!
I know this is a little early, but is anyone applying to Denver College of Nursing for the October start?
@Maddy TrujilloI have applied to other schools out of state but I want to stay home in Colorado. When I was waitlisted at Vanderbilt in Feb everyone within the MSN/CNM bridge cohort was notified at the same time (denied/wait/accept). So, this is knew to me. But I do think the number of people applying is higher than usual due to the pandemic. I just can't imagine the school sending out one email for every student. But I could be wrong. It looks like we might be in this boat (whatever it maybe) together.
@Holistic Life, I was trying to find patterns in the other times I've applied just to ease my mind, but nothings helping. I got waitlisted for Oct 2020 and was notified at 11:30am on 5/11/20, then reapplied for July 2021 and got denied at 9am. Seems like there's no pattern ? I'm confused why we haven't heard anything... I would expect they send them all out at once too.. It's weird we're still waiting..

It's very likely that they are short staffed and maybe a little behind. They could also be a little mismanaged if they have less/or new people working right now. Very early on, after the application due date, I received an email from staff asking a few questions about missing documents in my transcripts. Nothing was actually missing, I think the person was simply overworked. After a quick search, I couldn't find that staff member's name in the list of DCN staff on their website, so they likely have some new hires. But who knows! They could just be changing things up, or have more applicants this year.
I really hope they continue on tomorrow with more acceptances, seems like there should be more of them.
CHECK JUNK SPAM AND ALL MAIL!!!
Maddy I had a friend who got denied. She called them was like tell me why!?! They said her personal statement was unclear about a few things so she corrected those things and resent in that day and got accepted for this April. PLEASE if you get denied again CALL AND RAISE HELL. Unless your grades are absolutely terrible this shouldn't be happening to you. Have you had someone like a manger or a professor go over your personal statement? I just feel for ya girl!

@Maddy Trujillo I am so sorry to hear this. You have persevered through this process with so much grace and positivity. I wish I could give you a big hug as I wait for the my rejection. Just know these letters don't define you (us), your (our) work ethic, or your (our) abilities.

I'm so sorry! I know exactly how that feels. Ugh.
Don't give up trying though, a nurse is a nurse no matter how you get there. Have you considered applying to the Associate degree program and doing a bridge? It's likely a less costly option. I know a lot people are going to struggle with the loans for this school. Honestly that would have been my next route if a CNA job didn't end up helping.

The same thing happened to me! They asked for all my unofficial transcripts documents but I had sent it all my OFFICIAL transcripts already. I was like you want my unofficial ones too?? weirdos LOL. I agree a bit mismanaged because of a pandemic strain.
Okay should I start the facebook or is there someone else a bit more facebook savvy than I?

Yeah, a facebook page is a good idea!
I keep my data private so being admin would be a bad idea for me, anyone else up to creating one though?
