Denton County Hospitals

Hey folks.

I just graduated from CNA school and am taking my skills test next week. Does anyone have any opinions on Denton Regional, Denton Presby, or Lewisville Medical Center? I am just wondering what the vibe was out there. I am going to start looking for a CNA/Tech job which I am working through nursing school. I want a good place to work, possibly somewhere that would pay for nursing school too!

Thanks for your help,

Matt

Specializes in Cardiac, Critical Care, LTC.

Denton Regional is a great place to work, I know they are hiring CNA, and they love nursing students to work as nurse techs. PM me if you want more info:yeah:

Matt,

May I ask what CNA school you attended? TIA :)

Specializes in Critical Care.

I worked for Denton Presby for several years and I loved it there. Great people and fairly laid back environment. I unfortunately moved back to Houston the same week they transitioned to the new building and formally changed the name, but assuming it's still run similarly you can't go wrong there. I started as a nurse tech on their med/surg floor but I had the opportunity to work in all areas- ICU, ER, even pharmacy PRN after I got my CPhT. They were very accomodating.

Chanel5,

I did my school at Hearts In Training down in Garland. A long way from Denton but it was a decent program. They really slow the program down to fill the required 80 hours by the state so it is a bit mind numbing. Let me know if you want any info about it.

Thanks so much Matt!!:)

Specializes in 2 years as CNA.

I love Presby of Denton. Such a nice hospital. But I must say I was pleasantly surprised at Lewisville Medical Ctr, it was better than I thought it would be. I have no experience with Denton Regional but have not heard anything bad.

Thanks for everyone's incite. I passd my CNA exam today so I guess it is time to start hitting the streets. I would love to find something before school starts.

Have a good weekend!

Matt

Congrats on passing the CNA exam, Matt!!:yelclap::yelclap:

Hey, I'm considering going to Hearts in Training in Garland. Could you give me more info please? [email protected]

If I were going to rate them, they would be in this order:

1. Presby Denton

2. Denton Regional

3. Lewisville Med Ctr

ETA: Just realized this is a really old thread! Hope you were successful in your job search, Mike!

Congratulations, Matt!!
