Dell Children's Nurse Residency July 2018

Hi everyone!!

I'm starting a thread for the incoming July 2018 Cohort! I thought it would be nice to get each others experiences with the interviewing process and steps to hiring! My main pick is the Pediatric Emergency Department.

Also, I was invited to the Open house next week on Feb. 23 and will be flying in to attend that. Is anyone else attending this?

I don't have any experience but I'm applying! I'm interested in anything Peds or Women's health other than surgery! I'm from Louisiana and graduate with my BSN in May! I went to the 3-4 session of the open house!

So what kind of experience does everyone have that is applying? Want to know more about everyone :-)

I have about a year and a half experience as a PCT in a Pediatric ED, which is the department I want to go into! I also am graduating from a nursing school in Georgia with my BSN in May :)

That's awesome!! So impressive you have that much experience! Do you know where I can find all the departments? Is it the same as the ones on the "submit an interest form"

Probably like general peds (not sure what they call it but like the equivalent of an adult Med Surg but for Peds?), NICU, and L&D. Not sure though! Haven't seen a full list of openings.

I'm sure if you go on Dell/Seton main pages in the 'career' section you'll be able to find a list of them. The big one you want to apply to is of course the one they mentioned that opens on March 1st!

Do you guys think / know if GPA is an important piece of being accepted?

I'm sure it factors into their decision but I highly doubt it's the sole deciding factor : )

Not sure, but i'm guessing sometime soon since it just turned 8am over there. Do you remeber the website they told us to use? Or is it just the basic career page?

That's what I was thinking too! And I can't remember...hopefully someone else can help us out with that haha. I keep checking the basic career page hoping that it will pop up.
