So, I finally feel I should not give up......I will be a retaker for 2nd time in December. I felt so low when I failed the test in July'07. I was thinking to take in october but just couldnt get motivated to study. In the meantime, I joined RN-BSN program. So, currently I am in school taking 15 credits of classes. I need to have my RN license before winter so I can do practical in communnity health, a required class for BSN.
After visiting this site almost everyday, reading success stories and encouragement given by one of my wonderful instructor from my ASN program, I am motivated to do it.
So, newcomers as well as retakers, Lets get together, support each other and lets pass the RN test. WE CAN DO IT.
For now, I have started practicing Q&A at least 2 hrs/day from Saunders CD. I will keep you updating and hope you all will share the tips as well.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US. :welcome: TO THE SUPPORT GROUP .

you go BOY!!
you will pass because you will study harder this time.
what are you doing to study?
A positive attitude is the first step in passing the NCLEX so Congrats on that!! I took an online review class (after failing my NCLEX 2X) with ReadyToPass.com and also got private tutoring from them. It was the only thing that helped - almost like a light bulb went off after working with them!! They also have a book with comprehensive practice questions (I think I paid like $20). Worth every penny!! The only thing that will get you to pass is you - so study, study some more and study even more!! Good luck to you!

I just took and did not pass my boards for the second time last week. I found out THURSDAY, and I've been in such a funk since then. I need help, I need support, and I need advice. I think I've found some of that on this thread. I am eligible to retake the exam on Dec 15. I'm not sure I will yet, as I'm kind of not sure how the studying will go with the Christmas holidays coming up. I LOVE Christmas... And does anyone feel that they will postpone b/c of the holidays? Here in Florida if you fail 3 times you have to take a refresher course I think through the state??? I am nervous about that. Any thoughts though from anyone, can you take that class earlier if you choose? Is it something that will help prepare you for the exam or just stress you out more?
My other thought is to sign up with the Ga Board of Nursing and take the exam through them... It is a LOT cheaper than in FL, and you can take the exam every 90 days and no remedial class... OF COURSE...
POSITVE THINKING: I will pass the next time out so it's all good.
Just would like some input from anyone that can help me. Please post on this thread so we all can benefit from the reply.

Lori,
I feel you on this one. I too live in FL and I hate the rules here too.
After your 3rd attempt, you have to take a remediation course usually held at community colleges, then take it the 4th time.... and after that..... well there is nothing. You have to go out of state.
If I do fail my FL test the first time, (GOD WILLING I WILL NOT BECAUSE I AM STUDYING LIKE AN ANIMAL), I will go to Georgia or New Mexico
but what do you think happened to you that you didn't make it?
I am scared but I am doing everything possible that I think will make me pass the test.
Hello all,
I will be giving NCLEX in december 14th for the first time. I graduated in August but I had a long vacation and other stuff to take care of. Now, I am back for studying and giving NCLEX test. I heard its easier than nursing school test, thats what my classmates said. Anyone from WA state here???

You should test whenever you feel most comfortable. If it's in Jan, then go in Jan, if it's december then so be it. GO Whenever you feel in your heart that you have done EVERYTHING possible to study for this exam.
Personally I chose to test in November because i know that the date I picked, I will have done EVERYTHING possible to study.
I am listening right now for the feuer cd's for the second time
I am doing my kaplan questions for the second time
I am reading my kaplan course book for the second time (ok 3rd)
and this week, I am gonna do the feuer questions. (I got the whole package)
and to me, that is how I feel I am gonna be prepared!
