personal stuff you want to share: very excited/nervous about starting my program!

married/single/kids/pets: married for almost 2 years; we have 2 dogs and 2 cats

school (if you want to share): university of south florida; tampa, fl

program you are in: accelerated bsn, starting in less than 2 weeks, omg!!

the day you grad: um..sometime mid-december '07!

what you are taking this fall: fundamentals, physical exam, pharmacology

what area of nursing do you think you want to be in: probably critical care, following in my mom's footsteps...i have a lot to live up to but i gotta wait and see what i like with my clinicals!

what scares you the most about nursing: knowing that making mistakes can be fatal

what are you best at so far in nursing school (give yourself props): i don't know, haven't started yet!

who's going to your grad: my husband, my parents, maybe my in-laws, a friend or 2

will you walk, go to pinning or both: probably both

what does your school uniform look like (just for fun): white scrubs w/ school patch on left sleeve, white shoes

married/single/kids/pets: married 13 yrs on 9/11, 3kids, 1 dog and 1 guinea pig

school (if you want to share): ut-tyler

program you are in: bsn

the day you grad: 2nd weekend of dec 07

what you are taking this fall: adult health i/nursing research/mental health

what area of nursing do you think you want to be in: flight

what scares you the most about nursing: lack of experience

what are you best at so far in nursing school (give yourself props): documentation and pt interaction

who's going to your grad: hubby, kids, parents, siblings, grandparents, uncle and anyone else who wants to go!

will you walk, go to pinning or both: both...my uncle will pin me

what does your school uniform look like (just for fun): blue landau elastic pants and button down scrub top with white shoes and a lab jacket (that no one ever wears...who needs extra layers?)

3 more semesters and we're done

What you are taking this Fall: Med-Surg 1

What area of nursing do you think you want to BE in: L&D/PP but now I'm thinkin' maybe OR. I won't really know until I experience it in clinicals.

What scares you the most about nursing: The first day of clinicals

What are you BEST at so far in nursing school (give yourself props): I am fairly confident with cath

Who's going to your grad: Everybody I can get to come

Will you walk, go to pinning or both: both

What does your school uniform look like (just for fun): It's actually not so bad. A navy blue top w/ our school name embroidered on it and white pants (not so crazy about those. I mean come on, we're going to get various colors of bodily fluids on us. Why white?!?)

what area of nursing do you think you want to be in: not sure yet.

what scares you the most about nursing: full pt load and time management.

what are you best at so far in nursing school (give yourself props): my bedside manner :)

who's going to your grad: parents, grandmothers, friends

will you walk, go to pinning or both: can do both i think.

what does your school uniform look like (just for fun): white or marroon pants, with white or marroon polo shirts with school logo.

i didn't notice this thread before, but i'm a nov. 2007 grad, so it's close enough!

married/single/kids/pets: boyfriend and dog

program you are in: accelerated bsn

the day you grad: november 17, 2007

what you are taking this fall: advanced assessment, legal ethical and professional foundations of nursing, med/surg 1, pathophysiology

what area of nursing do you think you want to be in: no clue, maybe or, though i really liked the telemetry unit i was on this quarter

what scares you the most about nursing: all the stuff i have to know!

what are you best at so far in nursing school (give yourself props): hmm, too early to tell. i *am* the only one in my clinical group who's given an im injection, and somehow, despite the fact i know i missed at least 2 questions and there was no extra credit, i got a 102 on my patho exam today!!

who's going to your grad: not sure yet, probably my parents, stepmom, boyfriend's family, maybe others

will you walk, go to pinning or both: i don't know much about the graduation process yet, so not sure what they're like or what i will want to do

what does your school uniform look like (just for fun): white polo shirt with school logo and green scrub pants (not as ugly as some schools!)

personal stuff you want to share: omg, in one year i'm gonna have an actual career. i'm so nervous/excited.

the day you grad: december 28, 2007

what you are taking this fall: um, well, i had surgery in august and had to take off a semester so nothing. in the spring it'll be peds, ob, and leader/management

what area of nursing do you think you want to be in:nicu or peds oncology

what scares you the most about nursing:med error that causes harm to a patient

what are you best at so far in nursing school (give yourself props):i think making patients feel comfortable to talk and express how they truly feel. also, i have a very positive attitude and i think it is contageous.

who's going to your grad:parents, brother, and some other family

will you walk, go to pinning or both:not sure yet. graduating in december we have to pay for our own pinning and graduation so i guess it kinda depends on how much money our class raises.

what does your school uniform look like (just for fun): all white. except in psych we wore green because this is what the facility wore and in peds next semester we can wear any color/print that we want

having to work with the same types of nurses i've had to encounter as a student.

it's shockingly ugly. white short sleeved, v-neck zip up tunic with yellow and red stripes around the sleeves, red piping that goes down the front. think "70's mcdonald's uniforms". white scrub pants, white shoes.
