Hi everyone-
I've been lurking around for a while and finally decided to sign up and say hi! I applied to DCCC for the fall of 2009. Right now I'm trying to keep myself from worrying too much about getting in and just concentrate on my non-nursing courses.
If I do get in, I'm thinking of continuing straight through to the BSN program at West Chester. Has anyone done the articulation agreement between DCCC and West Chester? Is the process pretty seamless or is there anything I should be on the lookout for?
I have a bunch of prior credits and it shouldn't take too long for me to finish once the ADN is done but I also want to make sure I dot all my I's and cross all my T's ahead of time... Just in case. That is, of course, if I even get into DCCC! (can you tell I'm a little neurotic??)

Hi! I cant really add anything about switching to West Chester because I dont know!! I just moved here from MI, so Im not familar with that school. But i am going to DCCC now to take pre-reqs for the nursing program. I am also appling for the 2009 program. I was just curious as to what scores you got on your NET. And how many more classes do you have to take(pre-reqs)?
~Im just curious, its nice to talk with people going through the same things!!
Hi! I'm taking Anatomy now and will have to take Physiology next semester. After that I only have Human Growth and Development (which I'm going to try to CLEP out of) and Abnormal Psych. Everything else has transfered in. I'm aiming at having all of the non-nursing courses completed before fall of 2009.
I got a 93 composite on my NET (91 reading, 95 math). I'm applying to the evening program so I'm not completely confident that it will be good enough but I'm hopeful. :)
How about you? How far along in the process are you? Pretty much everyone in my Anatomy class is either in the nursing program or trying to get in the nursing program so I think it's pretty competitive but again... I'm just going to not worry about it until after the priority deadline.
Wow!!! That is such a great score! Congrats! I HIGHLY doubt that your not getting in. And it sounds like you really got yourself together with all your pre-reqs, so good job!
~I wish i could say the same. I took the NET for the last time today, and got an 83 composite, 73 in reading and 93 in math. Im REALLY hoping thats good enough. As for my pre-reqs, Im taking English 2 and general psych right now. After Ill still have A&P, lifespan, and abnormal pysch. And can we take math for nurses now? Or do we have to wait till were in?
~I believe I put down on the petition prefer evening but will take day. Honestly, if they offer me a seat, I will take it regardless!!
Thanks! Keeping my fingers (and toes!) crossed!!
I think that you can't take math for nurses until you've been accepted since it's a NUS course not just a math course. I don't know for sure though. I do know they let you attempt to test out of it at the orientation so if I get in I was going to get the book from the bookstore and at least give it a shot.
Good luck!

You can take Math for Nurses before you get accepted to the Nursing Program. You just would have had to placed at College level math when you took your placement test for DCCC. So, if they didn't tell you that you had to take remedial math classes then yes, you can take it next semester. It's a 6 week course and is offered at CCH and Main Campus I believe. You can check the catalog online and it will tell you.

Hi you guys! You can take Nur 102 prior to getting into the program. It's a 1 credit course. Not sure if that is the Math for Nurses but I remember them talking about this at orientation. I'm waiting to see if I was accepted before I take it on. I'm anxious to get the results.:wink2: Good luck in all you do!
Okay thanks! Hey is that class manditory for the program, do you know? And what were your NET scores, if you dont mind!! Just curious if anyone got in the low 80's like me.......
I am embarrassed to say that I only got a comp of 73%. I know DCCC requires higher than 65% but as least I passed. I know alot of people who didn't even pass. I also didn't get to take the test but once. Hopefully I'll get in but if not at least I can take it again. I really don't want to though. I'm SURE you are in. Please stay in touch. What classes are you taking next semester? It's nice to stay in contact with people in our same situation. Good Luck!:typing
Well, of my pre-reqs, i still have to take anatomy and physiology, Abnormal psych and lifespan. So, since they do not offer anatomy next semester, i will probably take abnormal psych and math for nurses, (if that class is mandatory). Then take anatomy and lifespan during summer 1, and physiology during summer 2. (which is gunna suck because those are hard classes and they're going to be crammed into summer sessions) But hopefully i can get them all done before the program, IF im in!!
~What about you?? What pre-reqs do you still have, and are you taking any classes next semester? O and what was your reading score on the NET? At least you passed!!!!! Good job!
I'm taking Lifespan Human Development in January. I'm waiting to see if I got in to take Nur 102. I only have my biologys after that. I got a 73 in reading and 72 in math. UGH! That's so bad! I'm taking Human Development via online. I love the online courses. Take care and keep in touch!!
Okay, thats what i got in reading too! Man, that was rough!:hdvwl:
