Daytona or Seminole state nursing program Spring 2016

I'm a bit early with starting a topic on spring term of 2016 for nursing school but I need a little encouragement ladies!! I have finished all of my pre requisites for nursing and I have taken the teas test once and made a 72.7 which I plan on retaking and I have a 3.4 GPA! Is that good enough to get into nursing school?? Who else is planning on applying to Seminole state or Daytona state nursing school?? Oh and I'm in the process of become a CNA so I can have flexible hours!!

Hi Brittnee, I took mine in on the 1st. They said it will most likely be around Thanksgiving or just a bit after, before we would hear from them. Have you gotten yours in?

I passed my TEAS but retaking it today so I can be competitive. I'm gonna call and see if I can bring the app and send the ATI results later today/tomorrow or if my results need to be there first. I'm so nervous good luck !

My adviser just looked at the copy of my TEAS results the testing center gave me. Hopefully you will be able to take that with your application, and get it in today, especially since the college already has your previous passing scores. Your scores in math and reading are above the national average, way to go! You also have a good GPA which will put you in category 1. I understand you wanting to get a higher overall score, just to be able to sleep better at night, (you sound like me, LOL). You will do great today. I bet we will see each other in the Spring!

I took in my application today. They said because I don't have speech or college algebra that puts me down lower on the list. Retook my TEAS today and went from a 61% to a 78% woo hoo ! So I'm sending those scores over. As soon as I get home.

Way to go!! You should feel better. Daytona will also accept Survey in Mathematics, MGF 2107 in lieu of college algebra. That is a class that you can do online along with the class instruction. If you work at it, you can get it completed ahead of schedule. That class involves algebra, but not as intense. Not sure if you are a math girl or not? Speech is an easy class, you should not have any problems with it. Sounds like you are on your way...

I'm still worried that I don't have the college algebra or speech. But it's like my GPA is pretty good. I'm hoping they would take me over someone who has everything done but a 3.2 GPA and a lower TEAS

I am sure since you have your application in, you have a chance. I have been told they take the students that have all the pre-reqs done first, but I have also heard that Spring enrollment is lower than the Fall, and at times applicants have been accepted without all the pre-reqs done. With your GPA and TEAS scores, I would think you would be on top of the list if there are openings.

I was accepted for the fall program contingent upon passing my final pre-reqs, I was taking them in the summer sessions.

I applied on Sept 3rd! My adviser said we should get our letters before November 2nd! I can't wait that long!
