  1. Congrats on passing the NCLEX, your study tips are great! Would you please e-mail your besties notes? [email protected]. Thanks!!😀
  2. I just finished my first clinical rotation as a nursing student, and wanted to share a wonderful experience. My patient was a swing bed pt, 88 years old who had suffered a right sided cva. She could not speak, or move, but I could tell that she understood what I was saying to her, and would grasp my hand when I spoke to her. Every day, her husband came to see her. When I walked past her room, I could hear him talking to her, singing to her, and reading the bible to her. He told me that they had been married for 72 years, he told me that she was his "angel". I was so touched by his love and devotion to her. On my last day of clinicals, he hugged me and thanked me for caring for his wife. At that moment, I fully realized why I decided I wanted to be a nurse.
  3. There are also some websites that will give you practice questions for free. Google "free teas test"
  4. That's very true- you need to know some conversions for dosages, but once you get the formulas down, you'll be fine!
  5. Hi- I was in the same situation as you are in. I hated math, and was honestly a little afraid of it. I took math for allied health for my LPN pre-req. I was shaky at first, but once you get the basic concepts down, you will be fine. Please don't get discouraged, you can do this!!! One tip- you tube has some great videos on math for nurses, sometimes the you tube videos are easier to understand than the text books are.
  6. I was accepted for the fall program contingent upon passing my final pre-reqs, I was taking them in the summer sessions.
  7. So far, my biggest help has been PowerPoint. My instructors have coincided their lectures and power point with each unit. Huge help to be able to listen to the lecture and follow along with the slides at home!!
  8. Hi- I just started my LPN classes this week. I had already completed all pre reqs,(A&P, math for allied health, & speech/communication). Currently, I have 3 online classes, and 2 classes on campus. The campus hours are 8:30-12:30 mon-Thursday, with a 2 hr mandatory lab per week. I feel like I'm on information overload!
  9. That's true, mine were separate courses, Anatomy was a prerequisite for Physiology.
  10. Hi- i did my online prerequisite classes through North Central Missouri college, I've taken A & P, as well as microbiology, they were all 4 credit courses, and were reasonably priced. Good Luck!
