I'm actually excited to get this semester going!
I'll be taking my PCT (Patient Care Technician) course and Biology.
At my school you either have to be a CNA or PCT to be accepted into the nursing program. So, I decided to go the way of PCT since we'll be taught to start IVs and insert and remove caths, etc. I plan on volunteering at my local hospital once a week, after this semester, to gain experience. Hopefully making it a little more comfortable for me when I get into the nursing program.
I already bought all of my books, scrubs, stethoscope and other supplies need for this class. I was so excited...like I'm actually working towards something, LOL!
So what are you all taking this semester?
Good Luck
I wished I could turn the clock back at least 10 years, my back hurt less those days:chuckle
LOL!
I had my PCT orientation yesterday and the instructors were talking about the clinical rotation and how we would be so busy giving baths (and other patient care) that we wouldn't have time to sit...
I just kept thinking, I hope my knees make it :chuckle
As a side note I found out yesterday that my PCT class is equal to 18 credit hours (we only get 6 for it ) it made me question taking Biology as well...which is 4 credit hours so this semester I'll be taking, essentially, 22 hours worth of class.....AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
What have I done to myself!?!

Get yourself some good shoes, a large bottle of 800mg Motrin, and some Dr. Scholl's footsoak and you will be fine.....wow so many credit hours you are brave !

You have a similar story to mine, although I'm still taking my pre-reqs. I started out as a nursing major and decided to switch to a double degree in Microbiology / Laboratory Medicine! Congratulations on almost being finished!
Anyway, I'm still working on the pre-req's for the Micro/Lab Med degree. I start Inorganic Chemistry I, Biology II, and Math (calc) this quarter. It comes out to 16.5 credits! I'm a little nervous about it!
