UPDATE

If you liked the 2016 Nurses Week giveaways, you'll love the 2017 Nurses Week Giveaways!

My patient, who is supposed to be laying flat for the next 6hrs, sitting up eating a taco in bed!

my patient's wife standing at the door wanting to know why she has been there over 15 minutes and the nurse has not been in to check on her husband once. He has eaten the Burger King Whopper, Chili Dog, and french fries and drank his coke that she brought because his consistent carb renal 1500 fluid restriction diet sucks. Oh and it's time for his sugar to be checked so he can get his insulin. For the love of Pete, does she have to be here 24 hours a day to make sure he is properly cared for?

#TrueStory

When a patient pushes their call button, I hope I don't find them covered in BM because they removed their colostomy bag while sleeping, and then hear them exclaim, "That's not poop, that's chocolate" while cleaning them.

Blood everywhere

I hope I don't find their chest tube out

A sad, scared toddler crying in her crib because mommy and daddy couldn't stay with her.

...the Zofran didn't work. And I had forgot to leave a emesis bag.

A patient (or family member) who knows more that the doctor.

an expired patient!

When a patient pushes their call button, I hope I don't find

the patient having sex.

:wideyed:

I hope I don't find the patient sitting on the floor by his bed, with bedpan on top of his head and watery stool dripping down all over his face, body, and floor... (true story.. happened in our unit)
