Davis Q & A New Format for 2010

Published

Just curious if anyone else is using this and how they're doing??

I'm reviewing with Saunders Comprehensive and then Davis lets me 'itemize' a little better than the Saunders CD to take practice exam questions. I'm doing terrible, so I'm wondering if Davis is a little harder than the others.

Anyone else care to comment on this book? :smackingf

Thanks Kat for getting back to us here and a very big :ancong!: to you! :clpty:

YAY!! So happy to hear that!!

You all made me feel better, I was thinking the Davis book was harder as well. Glad it is not just me!

One of my nursing school professors was a contributor for this book and she said that the lady who wrote this book (Kathleen ohman) wrote questions for the previous NCLEX and she just finished her contract with NCLEX and this book supposedly came out right when her contract with them ended. (the contract says that if you write questions for the NCLEX you cant write review books for i think 3 years)> my teacher said that since she just finished her contract the questions should be very similar to the NCLEX now

PS.. i just took my NCLEX today (shut off at 75 and according to the PVT i passed but i wont find out officially till tomorrow but i think that the questions on NCLEX were a lot easier then Davis q and A

Any updates with people using this book? I am going CRAZY and getting horrible practice exam scores. These questions are TOUGH!

Yes, these questions in the davis book is very frustrating to do - average in the 60s so I get pretty mad/frustrated while doing them.

hey guys!! just wanted to update you! i shut off at 75 questions and just saw my name on the bon!!!!!!!!! davis works!!!!!! that and lacharity and you guys will be good :-) good luck to you all, i know you can do it!

Hi and CONGRATULATIONS:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::nurse::nurse::nurse:

Can i get the ISBN No. of this book and the Tittle, it's like a good resource to have for this Exam.

Thanks in advance .

sorry for late reply:

took test last week, test shut off at 75. according to PVT, i passed! but i'm still holding out for my name to show up on the BRN before i breathe a sigh of relief. unfortunately, no quick results and my nursing program just mailed transcripts in last friday and no results until BRN gets those transcripts.

to me, Davis questions seemed much harder compared to the real thing. book recommends 75%-80%, i think scoring 65%-70% should be good. i was scoring 70%-75% consistently. good luck everyone!

btw, if anyone wants the book, PM me i don't think i need mine anymore. =)

Congrats everyone!

Oh my goodness! I was near tears last night! I got a 53 on a 75 question one! I'm sure it didn't help I let my husband 'read' the first 30 questions to me which took FOREVER - won't try that study plan again.

The name of the book is Davis's Q & A for the NCLEX-RN Examination. It comes with a CD and you get like 4000 practice questions no it! It's very nice - allows you to really itemize what and how you like to get tested. I just do everything since I have a chance of getting everything on the NCLEX. While you're using the CD, you can click 'feedback' and find out your correct answer and rationale right then.
