Darton College Summer 2011

Hello everyone. I just applied for admissions for the summer 2011 program a couple weeks ago. Has anyone esle applied as well? If so what is your GPA and HESI score if you don't mind me asking. My gpa is a 3.0, or higher because I have grades that have not posted, and I have not taken the HESI yet. Also, I applied to the Darton College. If I don't get accepted for the summer, I'll just apply for the fall.

I hope not! they have definitely been a hand full for no reason. I really think they should start posting your acceptance under your student file online. Most ppl post the initial acceptance to the school that way so you can see if you to submit immunization records, etc. That would save on paper and postage!

my advisor wasnt even there! but i talked to the lady that was very impatient with me the last time (last name starts with h******* (she is the administrative assistant i think))... but anywhoo.. she told me that i would have to email her to take off the holds... but then what i was really shocked about was that for the first semester of nursing school, we are not able to register ourselves.... did anyone else know that or was that just me???

@pewinsto: did you talk to the lady that Im talking about on here??

I have no clue who you are referring to..I never caught a name when I called. But her voice always sounded the same; very dry and uninterested. No, I didnt know you couldnt register yourself...Why not?

You can't register yourself because someone would try to get into the nursing program that hasn't gone through the process it takes to get into school... I.e. Fraud... So they will have to give you clearance every semester... So the people that fail can't sign up either

Well that makes sense..but are you able to pick your classes or do they do that for you as well?

They will pick the next nursing class or give you a password to sign for the next nursing class... You have to take them in order... First stop is usually the nursing home learning to make beds and give baths.. While you learn the legal part of nursing in class.

when I was looking at the classes for the summer, I saw that there is only one big class for fundamentals of nursing and phramacology... the only thing we have to worry about choosing is the lab... so if you go to the class schedules on www.darton.edu (on the main page), click on class schedules to the right of the screen and then click "dynamic schedule search option", search for the nursing courses for the summer, and you will see there are 96 spots for fund. of nursing, and it says to choose one of the following labs... also there are 96 spots for pharmacology also... so the only thing to fight for is the lab!

Oh okay..I was just wondering if you could pick your times versus them just choosing your entire schedule for you. Everything else makes sense. I looked at the schedule as well however did not dwell on it too much and begin choosing classes....just waiting patiently!

That would be so crazy if they chose your lab for you! Im not dwelling on the schedule either! I was just curious on how many ppl were in each class, but now I know! I just want to see a letter come in the mail! Im dying here!

Oh I meant dwell on the letter coming..but yeah the schedules either. It'll be here before we know it..lol.
