Hello Darton College students. I am going for round three again with my nursing application. Have anyone heard anything about the average GPA's and Hesi Scores!?

Success88, if you don't mind me asking is this your 3rd attempt at the Darton program? I've been wondering how tough it was to get in. I keep getting different answers from everyone.
Yes it is my three attempt at darton, but I did not apply to the same campus each time. I applied to the on in swainsboro and albany. I have gotten accepted in a program before (last year) but everyone told me their nursing program was bad. I wish I would have tried it tho. But I will be applying to albany summer and fall. Hopefully I would only have to apply for one

Hi I am a Dec 2010 graduate of the Darton college nursing program. I think my GPA was around a 2.7 or 2.8ish and Hesi score was 81.92%. @Success88 I wonder why people told you Dartons nursing program was bad. In my opinion the program is straight forward. Unlike horror stories I read about on this website with teachers giving tricky test, and abusive clinical instructors Darton was nothing like that. The program is five semesters long. You go to lecture, clinicals, study, pass your test, pass the class, and then move on to the next semester. I'm glad you decided to try again especially for the summer because of the way the program is set up. If everything is still the same then if you start in the fall you might have to take the harder class (Adult health in the summer) which mean test every week! Good luck to you
Thanks so much youcandoit...acutally I had got accepted into aiken tech. I never got accepted into darton. I wish I could get accepted this term around. Is the summer easier?
The summer is easier in terms of the structure of the program. As I was saying in my other post if the program is set up the same then that means if you start in the summer then you will never have to take the harder classes (ie Adulth Health I, Adult Health II, and Adult Health III) during the summer term. Don't get me wrong it can still be done in the summer. The semester would be pretty intense where you would normally have four months in the semester instead all of the material is combined into two months. Which means a test like every week. Anyway congrats on your acceptance I know how hard it is to even get accepted I moved to Albany just to do the program so you should be very proud.

Reading your post saying you got in with a 2.7-2.8 gpa really makes me feel like I have a chance;) I have same gpa at this point, and I felt like I didn't have a chance, and was just trying to hopefully make it through and get accepted!!!! Would you possibly remember what kind of questions they asked on the hesi exam??? I know it's been a while, but just had to ask!!! Also, do you remember if there were any math word problems (measurement conversions also) on your exam?!?! I have been studying the study guide for a month now and I need to do well because I have to make-up for my gpa:) Thanks in advance!!!:heartbeat
*I meant: do you remember what kind of question dealing with the ANATOMY section of the exam!?!?!?
Success88, thanks for sharing! I really hope we get in!

@success88....were you accepted for summer semester at Darton? My daughter is trying her best to get in. Her GPA is around 3.7 and she scored 79 on the HESI, but she was denied admission for summer semester in nursing. She is completing her last prereqs/core classes this semester and only has nursing left. She is going for her second try in July on the HESI and applying again. This is getting very frustrating for her and I am just wondering what is going on with Darton since it wasn't this way 30 years ago when I was a student.
