Hello All,

I am an LPN applying to darton college for fall 2011. I live in atlanta and I am so tired of the run around that the LPN's receive from the metro area schools here. I dont care which program track I get in I just want to start RN school and stop wasting time sitting around. If anyone lives in atlanta w can car pool.I have taken the HESI I receive good scores, so now is the waiting game for acceptance or denial on April 11.

Did you receive your letter? Were you accepted? My daughter tried with a GPA of 3.7 has all core and pre-reqs completed and HESI score of 79 but was denied admission for fall nursing. I just don't know what is up with Darton.

No I was denied I have a 3.0 and made an 89 on the hesi... I was denied I was told because of some withdrawals from classes I made in 1999..

I am sorry to hear that.

My daughter says she isn't giving up and will retake HESI the next offering. If she is denied again she will take time off from school. I wish she wouldn't but she is grown and her choice The last two times she took the HESI were here in FL. The College of Central Florida requires a HESI score of 80 for admission in the nursing program and she just missed by a point or two both times. She transferred back to Albany to continue at Darton but they don't give the requirements for entry. Her score on the HESI was the average and I have read that some students get in with a lower HESI and GPA than she has. Your GPA is great and HESI is really high but you were denied based on classes from 1999. Must be they had way too many applicants this time.

Yeah I'm not giving up... I just had a meeting at my old school Georgia highlands college. I am going to retake a few classes and try again... I won't give up until I get in :). I'm sorry for your daughter.. Please tell her dont give up and just buy the hesi study guide it helped me alot.

This really concerns me. I had several classes I withdrew from some years ago...why would they look at that? My gpa too is about 3.7-3.8, and I will have all of my pre-reqs by fall. Haven't taken HESI yet tho...bit it makes you wonder who exactly are they choosing? Lord I pray I'm not killing myself for nothing.

Prettymica why are you retaking A+P I? And did you speak to someone in Dartons nursing program about what you need to do to get in? If you did thats great and you lucky.....they wont talk to you there, its like they are over all the questions students ask them.
