Darton College anyone

Posted

Hello,

Just wondering if their are any current students or graduates from the Darton College Nursing Program in Albany, Georgia. I would like to hear of your experiences or any advice you would like to give in regards to the program.

Thanks

I just transferred my credits from ABAC to Darton. Hoping to start Darton's program in the August. I'm registering tuesday for ap2 and micro.

I graduated from Darton almost 3 weeks ago and am waiting to take my boards. I though Darton was a fabulous school with EXCELLENT instructors. I would recommend Darton to anyone. Of course, there are pros and cons, but all in all...Darton is a great school. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions...

I have also applied for Darton's Fall nursing program. Does anyone know when we will be able to access our HESI scores online?

I just checked and the results are online. :wink2:

They accept a lot of people into the program then work very hard to weed you out once you are in and they have collected your money upfront (which by the way is not refundable even if you havent attended any classes and cant even carry the money forward for another semester.

They do accept a decent number into the program in the beginning, but I wouldnt necessarily say "weed" out. Those who work hard...pass. And as with any college, if you do not pass a course you have paid for, then you must take it again, and pay again.

Does anyone know how long the Healthcare professional to RN bridge program is?

I don't think they try to "weed" people out, so to speak. I think it's more the fact that it takes strong people to be good nurses. The instructors are kittens compared to some of the patients or physicians that you may have to deal with. The instructors are there to teach you how to think for yourself. My advice to any new or upcoming student....use the materials provided to you!! The instructors give you objectives and study guides for a reason. They aren't going to tell you exactly what is on the test, but they will tell you where you can find it. I went into the program with my mind made up that they couldn't drag me out even if they wanted to!! It's been working for me, because I graduate this semester.

Hi,

I am currently attending a community college in Baltimore, but I am thinking of applying to Darton College for the May 2010 semester. I have completed A and P 1, with a B, and I am currently enrolled in A and P 11 and Micro. I have most of my pre-reqs (clep), do I have a shot at been admitted?

Is Albany a nice/safe place to leave and are there other nusing programs I can apply to?

How many students on average do they admit each semester?

Thank you

Yes, I think you stand a good chance. They normally take a good number of students espacially in the fall and spring. Wishing you all the best.

Did you get in? If so, are you still in? If so, we're classmates!

Hello guys,

God knows I love this Site. Quick question i got accepted into southwest ga tech and darton college for spring . Could i please get some advice on which one will be better and quicker and also i wont be working so i will need as much financial aid, which school will be best?

Thanks

Can't speak on SWGT's program other than I work with a few girls that are going/have gone through the program and they seem to like it. I just finished my 1st semester at Darton and it was tough...but I enjoyed it. You get what you put in it...and that goes for any program. Good luck with your decision and your program.

Can we bring this back to life?!?!

Anyone in the program now and if so, are there still positive aspects? I'm thinking of transferring out of SWGTC and into Darton.

Wow I started this thread last year in May and now I am only 3 months away from graduation! I do not have any complaints about Darton. If it wasn't for Darton I would still be in Atlanta on a waiting list trying to get into a nursing program. Unlike horror stories I've heard in the past with instructors trying to fail you at different schools, at Darton we have more than enough resources to be successful. The resources are there you have to do the work. If you have any specific questions I will try to answer for you, but like I said no complaints to date.....

I heard they were "losing accreditatiom", come to find out they are just having an evaluation. The lady who emailed me back said they've never lost accreditation and are just having their reaccreditation next month. Am I okay to apply?

I'm going to take 3 core classes in January. Can you tell me where I could find a schedule of classes for spring 2011? Med term, Govt and PE.
