Hey! I just wanted to get a thread started for people applying to Children's Health in Dallas for the July cohort!

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I've read in past years' threads the application status goes inactive when the app is no longer open. I think we're all worrying ourselves a little prematurely! Trying to stay optimistic! The recruiter mentioned on the phone that each unit doesn't even get our applications until the due date, and I doubt they can all go through them all that fast! also, surely at least one of us would've heard about an interview! Im sure y'all are all really smart gals!

I called and they said that if it says "inactive" next to your application that means that you aren't getting an in-person interview

I just talked to Merideth the recruiter and she said it just means the application is closed. But who knows lol

Hi!

I applied for Dallas Children's as an out of state applicant. I was called on January 23rd for a phone interview and sent a video interview the same day. Meridith, the recruiter, said that they would give the video interviews to the departments you picked from as your top three, on February 9th (when the application closed). She also said that usually they begin reviewing them February 12th and should start calling people with in person interviews or job positions once they've gone through the video interviews. My top pick was Pediatric ED and she had said that the most competitive areas were NICU and PICU. Hope this helps!

(Side note: I was also asked by the recruiter what day was my prefered interview day out of the March 9th and 12th interview days).

so if we were not called for a phone/video interview, does that most likely mean we are no longer in consideration for an in-person interview?

I'm not sure. However, I'm sure you could call and ask. They're still working through all the applications!

That's good to know. A little last minute for getting plane tickets to fly in, but at least we have more of a range
