Dallas Childrens Nurse Residency July Cohort 2018

U.S.A. Texas

Hey! I just wanted to get a thread started for people applying to Children's Health in Dallas for the July cohort!

I applied January 31st, but haven't heard anything back yet. Do they do video interviews for all moving onto in-person interviews?

Yes I believe thats what I heard the recruiter say! It took awhile for them to get back to me, don't worry, its only been 6 days!

I'm not completely sure on this. I applied On Jan. 15 and have a prior bachelors and will have my bsn and have work experience and a RN at children's referred me .. and a classmate with no work experience, no other degree, who will be getting her bsn also applied 2 weeks after me was requested to send a video interview. I dont see what would rule me out based on that. I've been told not to count yourself out until you have received a rejection email. And done applicants can be called in for only in person interviews and some people are hired off their video interviews alone.

I'm not sure but a prior degree might not matter as much but having prior work experience should help you greatly! I have applied to this residency in the past with no luck, but my friend with no work experience ended up getting a job in the PICU for the februry cohort. I applied on the 23rd and have not heard back from them either, but it probably has alot to do with my resume. I just recently changed it so hoepfully that helps. Overall, I think it just depends, and I have found it extremely hard to get in touch with HR this time around.

I wish you all the best of luck!

I have also applied! I got a mini interview with HR over the phone asking why I wanted to be part of children's and what floors I was interested in. That was on January 15th. Haven't heard anything back . Should I be worried?

No I wouldn't be. My friend who went through their residency and currently works there said she still doesn't understand how HR does things. Last. She never had a video interview, she only had a call and then an in person interview later.

any new updates?

nothing yet :(

I had a friend tell me someone from my class got an email from HR setting up her in-person interview... so Im not sure what that really means

I called and they said that if it says "inactive" next to your application that means that you aren't getting an in-person interview

oh I thought they just put inactive when applications closed?

I noticed today that my status switched to inactive - not feeling that optimistic because I didn't even had a video interview, but I'm hoping it's just because the application is closed now.

Womp, if thats true, then im glad I just took a job else where! Good luck to you guys!
