I didn't realize you could just request and pay for these at your own expense. lol DUH and i'm a nurse.....anyway since the u/s for this baby wasn't super clear, i was thinking i may try to make an appointment and have one of these done. not to mention it would be AWESOME for the baby book. Does anyone know the average costs of these? And where do i call to have one done? Like what kind of facility/etc..??

Maybe try something like http://www.geddeskeepsake.com/locate_provider.html
I don't know much about the 3D/4D US but they look amazing... I live here in Mississippi, the perpetually-behind-the-times state LOL
Google search usually never fails for me, so maybe you could try and find some info that way! :)

Thanks, i'll google and see. I looked at that site the other poster put, but none are near me. I'm going to call the doc's office and see if they know off hand too.

Our local news did a segment on 4D US the other night...I think they said they range from about $125-200.
They are neat. I know insurance does not pay for them, but they are beneficial for helping diagnosing cleft lip and palates. If I am fortunate to get pregnant this month (long story there) I am going to insist my insurance pay for one given my first child was born with multiple birth defects. If they don't...no problem; at least my mind would be at ease.

Congrats on your pregnancy! Here's to a healthy happy one!
I called my doc's office and the doc is JUST not getting set up for these and trained, they will be making appointments next week for them. I'm not sure of the cost yet, but if its $150 or so, i'd pay that!! Talk about a PRICELESS picture!!

We have just had one open in this town, it is owned by an L & D RN and her husband. It is not diagnostic, just used to see the baby, get cute pics.
Oh totally! I mean if you need it diagnostically that's good too, but at this point (i'm 34 weeks) i'd love to have some neat one of a kind pictures. I hope i can get one!!!
