Hello everyone! Has anyone applied for spring 2019?

I have applied on sept 04, 2018 with 30 points.

Well the office is closed now. Anyone get an email?

You can actually login to your Health Science Application portal and see if you've been admitted or not.

I was waitlisted with 30 points :(

Does anyone know how the waitlist works for Cypress? Are we still in the pool for Spring 2019 if anyone declines their spot? Is our application also going to be considered for Fall 2019 w/o us having to apply again? I'm a bit confused about this section in the paragraph they provided, "If no vacancy occurs, you will need to update your application by applying during the Fall 2018 application period to be retained on the Chronological Waiting List for the Fall 2019"

So, from what I know. You're application gets automatically recycled for the fall semester without you having to apply again. Bc at cypress there is only one application period per year. But if you don't get the email in April for fall 2019. Then you would have to re apply in September. If you're waitlisted there is still a chance for you to get in Bc many students apply to multiply programs at the same time. So if they don't show up to the orientation or don't accept their spot then They will pull from the waitlist. I saw people getting in just days before the semester started. I believe you can still attend the orientation and get all the information. Am I right? Does it tell you when the orientation is? My email says it's December 12th.

No my email doesn't provide an orientation date so I guess those on the waitlist aren't invited to attend :o

I was selected as an alternate and my email said if alternates do not attend the orientation, they will be removed from the list.

Oh I guess I wasn't selected as an alternate and was just automatically placed on the chronological waitlist? This is what my email says

Thank you for your interest in the Cypress College Registered Nursing Program as evidenced by your recent application. The Selection Committee has given careful consideration to your application. You were not selected for the Spring 2019 class. Candidates who ranked highest on the Rank Order and the Chronological Waiting List were selected for Spring 2019.

If you have any questions concerning your application, selection, or the program you may email us at [email protected] or call the counseling center to request an appointment with a Health Science counselor or obtain their walk-in hours at (714) 484-7015.

Your name will be retained on the list for the Fall 2019 selection of students automatically.

If you are not selected for the Fall 2019 semester, be sure to update your application during the application period in early September to retain your place on the Chronological Waiting List for Spring 2020 and Fall 2020.
