Cypress college RN program

Hi just wanted to see if anyone has applied to the RN program at cypress. Maybe we can talk with each other as we sit and wait for a decision. I just applied Sept 1st and am turning in docs tomorrow. We gotta stick together ladies!:yeah:

i didnt get accepted too..not even on alternate list..

gizelle- IS rio hondo a good school? have you heard anything about there program?

I didn't get accepted either:-( Have all A's in all prerequisites and have a 3.8 overall GPA, not even mentioning a bachelor's degree. Who got accepted? What was their GPA?

I have 3.93 GPA, and was accepted as alternate with 28 points for Spring 2012. First applied Sept. 2010 with 24 points and was declined for Spring 2011 then declined Fall 2011

I thought I would at would least get to be an alternate (I'm in the same boat as you with 28/29 points all A's in my prereq's and an overall 4.0 GPA to boot). I got accepted to Rio Hondo but was really hoping on Cypress as it is much closer for the in class and clinical portions.

I've "heard" that you have good chance of getting into the program in the fall since they pull from the same pool of applicants which lowers the required score to get in. Unfortunately this isn't guaranteed so I'll have to fork over a lot of cash and waste a lot of time doing the mandatory prereq nursing class at Rio Hondo just incase I don't get into the Cypress fall program.

Hi Snoo I heard Rio Honda is good. I need to see about there application period. I know Los Angeles nursing school by lacusc is top notch and there app period is now. Hi dangitcypress I'm gonna call on Monday and find out about the Fall cause I'm ok waiting till fall. I just can't believe I didn't even make an alternate. I'm with you( dang it cypress ) ahhahhahh!!!!

I think you will be selected for Fall 2012. I was accepted with 29 points. My GPA is 4.0. I had 30 pts, but I forgot to list one class. I didn't think I would be selected for Spring 2012. My counselor said that people who got 29 pts were all selected either spring or fall last year. I was also selected for Rio Hondo. I have heard Rio Hondo is a good school. I actually registered a class for spring 2012 already since Cypress responded me so late. I like people there.

@ dr choco.. are you going to choose rio hondo over cypress then or go to cypress? I got an alternate for sping 2012 at cypress but not sure of the likely hood of getting into spring 2012.. and also got into rio hondo but wasnt sure if it was a good school.. and not liking that you have to take a preq class before actually starting the program.. rio hondo already let you sign up for the preq class i need to get my transcripts sent to them first i believe

Most likely I will go to Cypress College. Because Cypress didn't make dicision sooner, I have already registered in Rio Hondo. However, next semester is my last semester in CSULB. I have 5 classes to take to graduate. I was so worry if I could do all classes together. I was accepted by Cypress for spring 2012, but I will ask a counselor if I can start from fall 2012. If not, I have to go to Rio Hondo.

I don't know which is the better school, but there are more hospitals near Rio Hondo. I think all community colleges are similar. It doesn't matter which one to go. But I feel like Cypress maybe harder to pass classes.

My house is only 3 miles away from Cypress. I can save time and moeny to go there. I have heard that Rio Hondo is also good school. People are actually nicer.

Yes, I have finished all to do list. As I came from another country, it took more money and time for me.

I paid over $250 for Student Health Center plus background check.
