Hi just wanted to see if anyone has applied to the RN program at cypress. Maybe we can talk with each other as we sit and wait for a decision. I just applied Sept 1st and am turning in docs tomorrow. We gotta stick together ladies!

Hi Gizelle22 - Congratulations! I've been reading your posts and they are so helpful. Would you happen to know what happens to the alternates that don't make it to the Spring class? Do they automatically get placed in Fall? I tried asking the counselors but I get vague answers.

Thank you for the congrats I'm so excited feels unreal. I'm so glad my posts have been helpful. Yes alternates its not a guarantee but as far as I've heard your in for fall. This is not per Cypress staff this is just student talk I want to be clear lol . The counselors can't say it's guaranteed because if anything happens they would be in trouble. Another thing you will hear at orientation is there have been semesters they have used all the alternates. They will answer so many questions at orientation. Your going to love it Cypress is amazing

Well it is with great joy I say I am now a Cypress College RN grad. It was hard it was stressful it was life changing and it was so worth it. Good luck to you all and just keep doing the next indicated step. Let them teach you. Cypress is well known for being hard and it is but you can do this! I did!!!

Thanks for the kind words, but I have actually been selected as an alternate. Congratulations on graduating though!

Does anyone on this thread know if it's mandatory to purchase badges/patches and have your picture taken if you're only an alternate? This is for family night btw. A quick response is appreciated, thanks.

Vince_43 sorry I didn't see this sooner they do have make up days for pics and to buy badges so don't worry. The staff and CNSA students nurses association really work hard to make sure your covered.

Okay my initial date applying Gizelle22 is ( i turn in my application Sept 2011). I didn't get in for Fall of 2012, Or Spring of 2013 and Fall of 2013. But I keep updating of course my application twice a year and turn in my signature page to the Nursing Department. You know how you have to update and turn in your page to renew application. I am pretty sure I'm not in the Rank List because I dont have 27 point and above. My points is 24. What about you Gizelle22, did you get in? Do you know or does anyone know how the chronological list goes? I think i'm on the chronological list. I dont think I am on the Rank list. Do they give you a number? because when they send out emails, they dont give you yor waiting list number. It just indicates if you got accepted or not. Do you guys think I have a chance of getting in this year? I applided 2.5 years ago.

I got in 2 years ago i had 30 points and graduated this December i have heard of people waiting like 4 years to get in. I'm sure you applied to the lotto system schools as well like Rio Hondo and Goldenwest because the chronological list can take a long time. Good luck don't give up
