Hi just wanted to see if anyone has applied to the RN program at cypress. Maybe we can talk with each other as we sit and wait for a decision. I just applied Sept 1st and am turning in docs tomorrow. We gotta stick together ladies!

hi gizelle22, I was reading this thread and I read that you said the orthopedic class is part of the final during the 2nd semester. I just got an email from cypresscollegecnsa about an ortho class on the 30th. Will there be another ortho class next semester or do we have to sign up now?

Hi Francesca18. There should be another next semester. I took it right before 2nd and I'm glad cause that really when I needed it.

Should we start getting our textbooks or should we wait till the first day of school? Will the teachers give time to order them?

Hi Gizelle 22! Do you recommend to go to the family night if I am in the alternate list? I received an email yesterday to invite me to the family night but I don't know if I should go. Thanks

Jo12 the only book you need right away is the fundamentals the others you can wait on. You have plenty of time to get the rest. Some of the books on the list we got i never used NEVER. Hayla2000 yes come to family night you never know you may get called and then you'll have missed it. We will still take your pic for your ID just in case you get in.

Hi Gizzelle22!! thanks! one more question, when I applied to the program last September I had around 28 pts and I just completed two more classes this semester to make 30 pts, can I update those classes now because one class I took from Cypress and the other from a different college or I have to wait until next September to update them? I noticed that some other alternates with 30 pts already got in, so I don't think I will get in this semester with 28pts. I just want to make sure I get in next semester. Thank you so much for your help!

hayla2000 I think you need to wait till the next application period. But if you are an alternate you really are as close to a sure thing for the Fall group. I would call the counseling office to make sure but I'm pretty sure you have to wait. You are an alternate right?

I was wondering how to sign up for the CPR class. I called the number but it goes straight to voice mail and it is full.

Does anybody know where the CPR class going to be held??? Also, how to get the malpractice insurance??
