Cypress College ADN Spring 2022

Hello I made this forum because I did not see one for Cypress ADN program for Spring 2022. Just in case anyone has questions or answers to help out any future nurses. I have already applied for Cypress so now it is just the waiting game for me. I did also add a forum for El Camino College and LA City College just in case you need any help with those applications.

This is my first year applying to nursing progrms. I too have received an email last night stating I was selected as an alternate, though I've read that people would end up waiting for years for their turn. That's some dedication for some people to not budge. I just find it weird that we are to attend the orientation even when its something so up in the air. The wait to find out is dreadful. 

Sort of. I believe it means if people who got acceptance letters reject their offer or don’t respond by Monday, we get their spot. Orientation is the 10th so hopefully we find out before that? I agree this “what if?” Feeling is awful but I’m trying to stay hopeful.

Stay positive. It’s better than a rejection. I guess it depends on where you are as an alternate on the list since some people will decline the offer.

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted. I’m so excited for you all. 
 

By any chance, does anyone know how to check your waitlist position for those who did not get accepted??

Absolutely. What I just don't understand is the portion at the very end of the email that states "If you are not selected for an accepted position for Spring 2022, you will receive a notification email in early May 2022 for Fall 2022 consideration." - does that mean the very latest one could know about their alternate status is by early May 2022? Holy thats a long time, unless I misunderstood of course. But if you attend the orientation, but are in limbo, you won't be certain until then?

Specializes in Nursing (Hopefully).

What it means is that if you're not moved from an alternate to confirmed this round, you will automatically be considered in the May 2022 spot like all the others that submitted an application for the Fall of 2022. You will likely know if you're confirmed for Spring soon though depending on how many people that were accepted decline their offer.

Thank you for explaining kind sir. I was very confused by it.

I received a text, but that could be anything, or some sort of spam. They specified that they were going to send an email, not a text message. So that was odd, and I wouldn't trust it really

That was just for regular college classes.

Just sent them my declination as alternate. Hopefully it goes to one of yall who didn't get accepted. Good Luck guys.

For some reason, they said my application was ineligible for Spring and fall. I don’t really understand what that means, but I’m okay with it since I was offered at a different program. Congrats to everyone else though!
