Is anyone here a school nurse for a cyber charter school? I just interviewed last week for a position that would allow me to work from home, with occasional travel 2 hours on either side of me. Th school has over 2000 students, so I would make the second nurse. The first nurse works from the central office, and I will work from home, doing th same administrative stuff I do now, minus student visits. I'm currently working as a CSN in a small( less than 250 students) brick and mortar charter school, but I've always wanted to work from home. We got a new CEO this year who clearly has no idea the role of a school nurse, and who refuses to communicate with me regarding decisions he makes without looking into the legalities( one example- he told me( through the HR girl) that I was to start taking student meds out of their appropriately labeled bottles and repackage into individual envelopes for administration by other staff in the event that I was not there( we have two subs who will rarely work, and they don't actively try to recruit new ones). I stopped that when I presented(to the HR girl) the medication policy governing my state. The lack of professional communication on his part is ridiculous, and makes me nervous to see what else he comes u with.
sorry for the book- just wanted to see if anyone out there was currently doing cyber school nursing and get some opinions

Nope, nope nope...that's a pharmacists' job. good for you! But I am fascinated by this. Are you making home visits to sick kids? Or are you just making sure that the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed on 504 plans? Because...you don't need emergency plans for anaphylaxis or seizuresif this is virtual leaning, no?
