Curry College BSN Program for Jan, 2010

Published

Hi ~

Did anyone out there apply to Curry BSN Accelerated program for January of 2010? I believe they notify those who are accepted to the program in April. Does anyone know if they send a letter or call? Just wondering.... and anxiously waiting to hear!!!!

Thanks!

The info I have is that classes will start in mid-late Jan, 2010 and will be three days a week for the first semester (likely Tues, Wed, Thurs. -- but I don't think that's set in stone). The first semester is all academic and on campus at Curry in Milton. And one of the days is only a 1/2 day for 1/2 of the semester (I think it's the simulated clinical lab).

The clinicals start in the summer semester and are mostly in Boston. That's a 4 day week. I believe we have 2 weeks off in August before heading into the Fall semester.

I think we will get a full schedule at our first welcome meeting in November.

That's about all I know so far! :)

That is roughly what I have too, so it's good we are on the same page. I was also told that the schedule was tentative, but will find out more at the Orientation in November. I'm waiting to hear from someone who is currenltly in the program about more details, but as you can imagine, she is VERY busy right now doing her clinicals. She is also on this site, and lives locally, perhaps we could all meet.

I am Attending in Jan 2010 and was wondering if somone could help me figure out the specific dates of the program. Ex: start in Jan classes and will end when? then is there a break? when will the next semester start after that ect. ect. thanks

Hi all,

Here's a link to the 2009-2010 academic calendar.

http://www.curry.edu/special/calendar/calendar_0910.pdf

This year the first semester classes were on Tues/Thurs, with a skills lab for 6 wks on Wed AM--not sure if they're planning the same thing for the coming year or not.

After finals for the spring semester, there's a week break then you launch into summer session--8 wks of class and clinicals (3 clinical days/1 class day) and a week of finals, then FIVE WEEKS VACATION (yes, just a little bit excited about that!).

Better get back to studying for pharm... best of luck to you all! I'll be coming up for air in 2 wks!

Dtrmnd2sccd.....

You are the BEST! I'm looking forward to meeting after your finals are done!! Best of luck to you....and thanks again for the info!!

That's how it's been in the past. Just add a final spring semester, two days a week (with a couple of extra days for an NCLEX prep seminar, from what I understand).

This fall is Mon/Tues--we haven't been told about spring 2010 yet, but in the past it's been Mon/Tues as well, I think.

Good luck! :)

Thanks again for all the great info!!! I really wish we were starting in September!! This waiting is killing me...

Thursmo, Just wondering....

Did you make it to the Financial Aid night? I'm very curious about the class, was it a diverse group? Did you happen to notice? Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it that night, so I missed out on an opportunity to meet a lot of our future classmates! It will be very interesting, that's for sure! I can't wait to meet everyone!!!!!
