Hi all,
Just thought to start this thread. Has anyone applied to Curry for Accel BSN January 2017 yet? I have and I am really looking forward to being accepted. I am currently working as an LPN and I have a bachelors in geological sciences. I definitely want to move up my career path and explore more opportunities. Curry is about 20 minutes away from me and is really convenient and I've heard great reviews about the program.
If you attended or are attending, please give a few pointers or ideas, it will be appreciated and if you are applying or have applied just like me then looking forward to seeing you in January 2017
Happy Nursing
:)
I'm extremely nervous i hope we all get accepted and we all can be supportive through this journey we all want which is to become a nurse. just the thought of it makes me nervous. the gpa is important but I feel the goal statement is where we all have to shine and show and prove to them we are what they looking for and we can bring something different to curry. i hope to hear back from you all :) and i hope its all positive :)
i wish its good enough. because with these schools they look for different things. . i applied at one other school and got declined; all they asked for were for transcripts. so you never know what they actually looking for. i just wish my goal statement truly made a difference because we all have wonderful gpa marks.
I double checked my copy of the application - you are right no recommendations were needed. If they are taking 60 students this year that would be awesome - since most schools are around that number anyway. I'm surprised they haven't opened up another start date throughout the year given the number of applications they receive. Good luck everyone! Lets hope the next few days speed by quickly!
I am a doctor from Myanmar. I have passed all USMLE steps and I tried to get into an internal medicine residency program but unfortunately, I didn't succeed for 3 years. My USMLE scores are above average for US grads but slightly low for international grads as I need visa. My main goal is to get more exposure to US in-patient clinical experiences. So, I will try to be a nurse practitioner first and then after getting US clinical experiences for 1-2 years, I will try to match in an internal medicine residency program or I will go to CRNA route. I am very passionate in medical field and I won't give up on my career, no matter how many times I have failed. The happiness I get from seeing the patients feeling better cannot be bought. I hope all of us would get accepted. :)

Awesome!! Thanks Sabs1028! Do you have a Facebook? My undergrad GPA was 3.3 and I got all A's in my prerequisites except a B in A&P 2. And yes, you are absolutely right about them accepting double the students this year so that definitely is in our favor!!
