I'm glad you posted a thread about NLN score coz I just got mine back today
I don't know how to interpret the PERCENTILE..I'm so confused
and what is a good(and high) score?
Need help reading this result :stone
I'm applying to a school that only accept 80 people every year and more than 500 students applied...it considers my GPA in combination to my NLN score...so I'm very anxious
You said only 40 people get accepted..how many applied?
By the way, where are you?(If u don't mind I'm asking..and what school r u applying to?)
Good luck to u...when will u know the result?
today my score arrived in the mail of the pre-admission exam for the NLN I took about 2 weeks ago. I've read it and understand it, but I'd like to see and hear about other's score results. not to be nosey, if you wish not to share, that's perfectly alright. I'm just very frightened about getting accepted to a particular nursing program, which only accept about 40 students, and supposedly a lot of people apply (I don't know how much "a lot" is). I used the review book, I think it helped a lot. I do wish I did little better in the science section though, I haven't had a science class in 2 years (since highschool) so I tried to read up and refresh my memory...my raw scores:
verbal ability - 45
mathematics - 27
science - 34
composite (whole score) - 121
again, people don't have to post their results.. I'd just like to hear words of experience if others got in or didn't get in with a higher/lower score than mine, because I'm really scared haha. I know also I shouldn't compare other school's admission to mine, but I'd just curious. and I'm aware that they also look at highschool/current college scores and GPA and whatnot. thanks..
I can tell you that my college used to use the NLN (they now use the TEAS) and in order to even have your file reviewed for admissions you had to get a 55 composite score. Needless to say, I did score more than that and I got accepted this year for Fall, 2005!!!!!!

The score column= (Raw score) its the # you answered correctly, highest possible raw score is verbal 60, math 40, science 60. Also each test has added questions in each area that are not used to calculate actual score. I got out my NLN book & that's what it said, it breaks down the scores for you in all areas. Then based on your score you are put in categories I, II, & III.When I took it the cutoff at my school was 3.77 gpa & NLN category I. Hope this helps
I am sorry but what is this NLN exam for? I am a freshman at Temple University and we have a nursing school but you apply for it in your sophomore year to continue on in your junior and senior year and get your BSN. WE don't have to take an exam to get in to the nursing school but only 75 out of 350 or so get in. Is the NLN equivilant to what the SAT was to get into college??? Do I need to take the NLN to get into nursing school?? I am a bit confused and would like someone to explain this to me.
**** Sorry that I got off topic but this is important. Thanks!:)
Hi, I am applying for an LPN program that only accepts 40 students and starts in August. I found the test to be hard, because we only had about 1 1/2 mins. to spend on each question. The verbal I did okay and passed, as well as the science, but my math score was horrible! I've always had trouble in math and have been out of high school since 1988. Another test is coming up in May, but I just pray that my score was high enough to get accepted in the program. Thanks so much for your feedback! :)
