CUNY City Tech Nursing Program- Spring 2018

Hi Everyone,

I will be applying to the City Tech Nursing Program for the Spring 2018 semester. I wanted to know what were my chances of getting into the program. I already have a Bachelor's degree, but am extremely passionate about nursing and want to pursue a career in the field. I was graded a B+ in Anatomy and Physiology I, B in Eng 1101, A- in Eng 1102, A in Psy 1101 and an A in Mat 1275. TEAS overall score 70.0%.

Well, it is hard to tell what your chances are. Do you know what minimum GPA is required? What is the cut off TEAS score is? Have you completed all pre-reqs? I am just wondering, since you have a bachelor's why not to go for ABSN?

Hi there,

Well, you have good chances of getting into the program. Your GPA is good as well as your TEAS score. I would definitely try applying into the program. Good luck!

That's great you completed your bsn pre-req. In city tech the process is you complete your associates first and only then you'll be accepted into the bsn. There's no direct bsn program at city Tech. You can't do bsn directly without getting your associates first.

Every sem the acceptance process varies. So no one can say what anyone's chances are. Just do your best, apply and hope for the best. Never forget that getting into the program is the easiest part of the entire nursing program, staying in is the hardest.

Good luck

Thanks @bizarreRN for the advice. Do you think my GPA is ok since they start at 4.0?

I am sure you've read all the posts, and all the current students say that admission criteria is different every semester, so consistently searching for reassurance from students will not help you as I repeat again that the admission criteria is different every sem. A student can get in with a 3.4 in one semester and get rejected with a 3.4 or even a 3.5 the next sem. Every semester is different, try to understand that and just trust yourself that you did your best on the TEAS and your gpa. No one can say if your gpa is good or not except the admission committee.

Hello! Did you end up getting in. Im going to transfer in to apply to the program and would like know the ideal grades.
