Cumberland University Spring 2014

Published

I have been reading threads for a while and am really hoping for some feedback on Cumberland University, and maybe even Austin Peay for the BSN programs for Spring 2014. I have a Bachelor's Degree, and have applied to both schools now.

My transfer GPA with Cumberland is a 3.4 and I got an 81 on the Kaplan Entrance Exam. At this point, I feel like I have the best chance of getting into Cumberland's program from what I've heard. Is there anyone who has been accepted into Cumberland University's program that can tell me what GPA/exam score they got in with? It's hard to wait for the letters! I just heard back from my Austin Peay advisor last-minute that a couple of my credits from my UT degree didn't transfer, so now I've had to add more classes for this Fall semester at MTSU while taking pre-reqs, and just quit my job, in hopes of getting into one of the programs. I'm also applying to MTSU, but I have a 3.19 there after busting my butt in A&P II all Summer and got a C with a horrible professor and have pretty much no hope of getting accepted into their program. Any comments are appreciated!

I have a 3.4 and my HESI at MTSU was an 87 I think. I applied twice to MTSU and I didn't get in either time. You also have to do an interview at MTSU and that score factors in with your HESI and GPA score. It is an extremely hard program to get in as well. Every program around here is. I feel like I just got really lucky getting into motlows program cause everyone tries to go there since it is cheaper. My GPA is 3.4 there and I made a 90 on my HESI for motlow.

Thanks for the info, that's really helpful. Now I'm reconsidering Columbia State, which I crossed off my list before as I wanted to stick with Bachelor's programs, because it's so much cheaper and I could still easily to an RN-BSN after and hopefully work some too. I appreciate the comments! Good luck!!

No problem! Thank you! And good luck to you as well!

I actually talked to someone that not to long ago that chose to apply to Belmont instead of Cumberland for the same reason stated above. Cumberland does require you to have some clinicals on weekends. You defiently have to have a employer that is willing to work with your schedule.

I would only look at Cumberland if it is your last option. It's really hard to get decent scholarships there. They only give it for certain criteria.

CU online RN-BSN program is 5 semesters going part time. One of the requirements is that you are already working as an RN. They do make some exceptions. I already have my RN and I am in the middle of my BSN online program now. Good luck.
