CU Denver Nursing Spring 2012

U.S.A. Colorado

Anyone else out there apply for CU Denver Nursing Spring 2012 start? I applied, having issues with my account saying incomplete but the school says all is good.

Going nuts this morning thinking about how long I have to wait to find out. First I was told letters would go out mid August, now they are saying late August. But I see people from previous years not finding out till early October. Crossing my fingers for mid August as Fall semester starts August 23 and plan to take courses if I don't get in or don't hear back from them.

Let me know if any of you hear back or have details that I may not know about the process. Hope everyone else is doing well during this waiting period.

Actually, getting started with the GI bill was smooth sailing. You just have to make sure you initiate the gi bill a few months before you plan on beginning school. The BAH they provide you is barely enough to live off of if you're living alone so make sure mommy and daddy has some room for you, find a room mate (something I absolutely HATE), or make sure you have several grand in savings before you separate (what I did). Finding a job isn't easy. It took me 4 months to nab a cashier position, working for minimum wage. I'm not receiving BAH right now since I'm not in school yet so I'm basically living off of my stocks until i begin FT school again. It sucks balls.... I repeat... finding a job after the military SUCKS MONKEY BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyhow, I've just completed a summer Phlebotomy course so I'm hoping that I'll be able to find a job with livable pay because--in my case--there's no mommy or daddy in sight. Anyhow, just make sure you have lots of money saved before leaving the military. It would be extremely wise to do so. Don't worry about the GI bill initiation because the VA reps at the school do a good job helping vets out and the online form (to begin the process) is pretty easy to complete. I began the post-9/11 process when it first began and, although lots of ppl experienced problems with it, I've never had a problem with my enrollment. Now that it's been well over a year since the post9/11 bill was implemented, I doubt that there would be as many problems, as they originally had, with the process.

I got my acceptance letter last month for the traditional program Spring 2012!! So excited!!! I was really really nervous since my undergrad cum was only 3.1, but my pre-req's was 4.0 from CCD... I agree with others, essay is probably super important, and I'm a CNA, so maybe that helped.

Anyways- Anyone looking for a roommate or for a new place in January?? I lived in Denver for 2 years, am currently in St Louis with my family (saving $$ and working) until program start. Looking to move back out to Denver right after New Years, but could be sooner if I found a good place to live. I wouldn't mind by campus, but prefer Cap Hill / City Park area.

My email is [email protected] if you or someone you know is looking??!! Thanks and congrats to my fellow classmates!!

Laura we have almost the same grades. I also have a 3.1 overall (or 3.3 if my culinary degree was included) with a 4.0 in prereqs from CCD.

When I saw that small envelope I thought it was bad news. I think I read the letter 5-6 times before I believed it was an acceptance. I also am in the traditional program, I didn't apply to accelerated because I plan to keep working. Hopefully my seniority at work will quit going backwards so I can better work around my school schedule!

I look forward to meeting everyone in January :)
