CONGRATS! I’m still waiting to hear when they do their next round of acceptances. I think they might have been waiting for the August 5th deadline for those of us who applied for the original Spring term before it closed! I also heard from an advisor that they have spots left to fill for the Spring 2021 Cohort and I’m currently at 32 points. Hoping that’s enough!!

Was accepted in June. But I saw in this thread they are still adding to the cohort. So since you applied for Spring that’s probably why they said you’d hear in August.
Thanks for the info! Still waiting to hear when they do another round of acceptances.

I was wondering, how long before starting were you "enrolled" and given your schedule/financial aid/orientation? We're still months away but I was just curious when to expect it.
I graduated last year. During the entire program I was given my schedule anywhere from a couple of days to maybe at most, 1 week before the semester started. Be prepared for last minute info and last minute changes.

Ahh OK, even initially? Your orientation was no more than a week prior to starting?

First semester isn't really nursing school, it's still kind of pre-nursing. It consists of bioethics, anthropology, and nutrition if you haven't already taken it. Second semester is when you actually take fundamentals of nursing, do hands on skills, go to clinical, need scrubs, etc. Second semester at CSUSM corresponds to first semester at basically every other nursing school. So you have time during that whole first semester to prepare for all that. Shoot my entire first semester was online we didn't even go to class until second semester.
I'm curious how people are finding the 2nd semester (NURS 300, 301, etc) - I'm completely stressing myself out and find myself crying all the time. This has never been me. I am a stressed out test taker sometimes, but I study hard and don't know if I am just psyching myself out and need to figure out how to learn to deal with this stress (anxiety?) so I can concentrate on studying. I've been confused with the Elsevier program and worrying about exams. I feel like we're just getting started and I am completely overwhelmed. Am I the only one who is feeling this way? I wonder how those in the cohort a semester ahead of us felt and if it's normal to be so stressed out the first week? I'm hoping after the first few tests, I will calm down and realize that I've wanted to be a nurse for a long time and that I can handle this program. I also feel like I started this week knowing very little about nursing (BP, etc) and that some have been CNAs, etc so they're not completely lost like I'm feeling. I'm sure it's normal to feel a little overwhelmed and stressed out, but I'm crying all the time. Can anyone offer any advice or let me know if I'm the only one feeling this way? Thanks!
